He knows how to score, on and off the ice
Allie Hayes is in crisis mode. With graduation looming, she still doesn't have the first clue about what she's going to do after college. To make matters worse, she's nursing a broken heart thanks to the end of her longtime relationship. Wild rebound sex is definitely not the solution to her problems, but gorgeous hockey star Dean Di-Laurentis is impossible to resist. Just once, though, because even if her future is uncertain, it sure as heck won't include the king of one-night stands.
It'll take more than flashy moves to win her over
Dean always gets what he wants. Girls, grades, girls, recognition, girls…he's a ladies man, all right, and he's yet to meet a woman who's immune to his charms. Until Allie. For one night, the feisty blonde rocked his entire world—and now she wants to be friends? Nope. It's not over until he says it's over. Dean is in full-on pursuit, but when life-rocking changes strike, he starts to wonder if maybe it's time to stop focusing on scoring…and shoot for love.

4.5 "The Playboy Athlete Meets His Game Changer" Stars!
Being a little late to Elle Kennedy's sports related romances, I wasn't sure what to expect. I kept seeing the fabulous reviews my Goodreads friends were bestowing on Ms. Kennedy's prior Off-Campus books, but I hadn't read one yet. Then I saw the blurb for THE SCORE, and I knew my time to experience Ms. Kennedy's writing for myself had finally arrived!
Well, I'm pleased to say that I have found another go to author! Reminding me somewhat of Sawyer Bennett's Cold Fury series, but with a younger, college perspective, I thoroughly enjoyed Dean's and Allie's story. Thank you once again, Goodreads friends, for helping me discover another great author and series!
THE SCORE tells the romantic story of what happens when the playboy rich boy who appears to live the good life in all respects (Dean Di-Laurentis ) finally meets his match in the form of a long-term relationship loving aspiring actress and college student (Allie Hayes). The fact that Allie happens to be best friends with his best friends is only a mere wrinkle in Dean's party boy, feel-good agenda. So imagine his surprise when after Allie's break-up from her long-term college boyfriend, he's tasked with babysitting her to make sure she doesn't do anything impulsive!
While Allie's friends are concerned she will resort to her ex-boyfriend's non-stop texts and calls, what they never could have imagined is that good-girl, long-term relationship loving Allie would end up hooking up with Dean. Moreover, quite to Dean's surprise, after their one night of rebound passion, Dean can't get a repeat performance out of his mind, while Allie appears to be more interested in forgetting their union than in exploring the pleasure of an encore.
Of course, there are additional, personal obstacles that arise along the way--for both Dean and Allie--that further complicate matters. In the end, can there possibly be a happily ever after for a couple with two such disparate relationship views starting points? Moreover, with graduation looming, and Allie's plans focused on an acting career either in LA or NYC and Dean's destined for the family profession at Harvard Law, do their personal desires even matter when their career paths have them headed towards different venues?
I loved the chemistry between these characters and the way that Ms. Kennedy found a way to look beyond stereotypes to humanize them. The physical interactions are flaming hot and the emotional connection that builds out of their shared passion is equally appealing and irresistible to the romance enthusiast!
I can't wait to read more of Elle Kennedy's books!

Allie Hayes hooked up with hockey playboy Dean Di Laurentis when she broke up with her boyfriend. After a night of magnificent sex, she just wanted to be friends with Dean, but the revolving-woman-door of Dean was fixated on Allie and he wouldn't take no...
In the first two books, we see the surface of Dean--a womanizing exhibitionist. But here, the author delved deeper and we get to know Dean and learned that he could be a loving, thoughtful boyfriend and a loyal friend. Also smart and great with kids. While it was gratifying to see Dean finally fall for someone, it seems a bit far-fetched that he would be fascinated by Allie after a night of sex that he'd want a repeat. Is she that good in bed? Didn't he ever have one that was similarly unforgettable among his scores of women? So what makes Allie so special that he'd keep after her for another round even after she'd said no?
And Allie...I don't love her quite as much as Hannah or Grace. Objectively, she's a great heroine, human and flawed, but I don't quite feel her. And in that vein, I don't quite feel her and Dean together. I'm not sure why.
I read the three books in this series back to back, and I have to say I love The Deal (the first book) the best. There's a certain magical quality in that story that isn't present in the next two. It lived up to the hype, and there's a high chance I would reread that book.
Overall, THE SCORE is worth a read, especially, if you're a series fan and if you love stories of the womanizer bad boy finally finding the woman who's the one.
