Having failed his brothers and his clan, Angus MacKay fights the darkness of despair wanting to claim his soul until he takes Deirdre captive and the fire dragon inside him roars to claim the one woman fate has destined for him in this pulse-pounding paranormal romance.
Being a famed mystery writer certainly didn't prepare Deirdre for stepping through the mists and entering into a battle with a Highlander. The reader gets drawn into the thrills as Deirdre and Angus battle alongside each other in a fight against evil. The heat sizzles from every page of this story as clashes of wills, culture shock and emotional angst battle against the burning desires that flare between Angus and Deirdre. Since these characters are strong and charismatic, the readers can't help but be hauled into their story while the steady-to-fast paced plots keeps readers on the edge of their seat with lots of suspense, excitement and romance.
Once again, fate has stepped in and readers get caught up in Deirdre's life altering culture change when she's sent to the past. Tension and excitement continue to build throughout the story as Deirdre and Angus join a band of warriors that is fighting the evil Druid set on destroying the Order of the Dragon Knights and claiming their powers with unexpected twists and exciting battles along the way. The well written scenes are full of vibrant details that make it easy for the reader to picture the historical setting and every moment of Deirdre and Angus' journey.
I was flabbergasted at how well Mary Morgan fit Deirdre's character into the Medieval Scotland culture, and she was the perfect heroine to Angus's hero. Since I don't want to give too much away, I'll stop there and say that this story is definitely my favorite of the series but of course that may change with the next one, but the characters will have to work hard to top Angus and Deirdre.
