SUMMARY
Stir in a pinch to stir up his passion…

When the Tastes of France food channel offers Mei Lee "Emily" Wong a series of guest spots, she jumps at the opportunity to take her culinary career to a whole new level. Ultimately, she wants a show of her own, but first she has to prove herself to Michelin-starred network founder and effective dictator, Etienne Duvalier. A legend in the world of classic French cuisine as well as a domineering perfectionist, Etienne is sceptical about the culinary abilities of a woman from Hong Kong. To make things more difficult, the master chef is also so gorgeous that Emily can't help being attracted to him.

Emily tries to solve both problems by spiking her luscious profiteroles with an ancient Oriental aphrodisiac. Unfortunately, Harry Sanborne, the low-key, bespectacled producer for Emily's show, samples the delicacies she intends for Etienne's consumption. His powerful reaction to her secret ingredient comes as a pleasant surprise to them both. Harry turns out to be far more impressive in bed than on the set. However, he can't do nearly as much to advance her ambitions as Etienne. Emily tries once more to tempt the exacting M. Duvalier with her special cooking as well as her feminine charms. The outrageous results threaten to end her TV career forever—until Harry steps in to save her reputation and claim her heart.

Oh, yummy sexy foodie books, how I love thee!

When Mei Lee 'Emily' Wong is invited to film on chef Etienne Duvalier's Tastes of France food channel, she's thrilled. It's a nice bonus that the Michelin-starred chef is drop dead gorgeous, if a bit hot tempered. When Emily decides to sprinkle a little of an ancient Chinese aphrodisiac into Etienne's food to get him to loosen up and maybe participate in a little fun, the joke is on her when it's her geeky producer Harry Sanborne who downs the herbs instead.

Even though Harry doesn't do anything for Emily at first, she's nevertheless impressed when he takes charge and bangs the hell out of her right there on set! But when she screws up a second dose for Etienne, the results could detonate her television career before it even gets off the ground.

HER SECRET INGREDIENT is a book in the What's Her Secret? series of novels featuring women with secrets by a variety of authors. At just 57 pages, this delicious quickie read is easily navigable in an evening. I've always been a sucker for books set in the kitchen, and even as outlandishly over the top as this one is, it was a lot of fun…lighthearted and silly and sinfully sexy. When Emily slips the men the aphrodisiac, the results are funny as hell, with a huge dollop of wild and crazy right on top. Her nerdy Harry winds up having a deviant Dom streak, while the powerful chef wants to drop to his knees and beg her to dominate him. The ending left the story open to a follow up, which comes in Ms. Sarai's The Ingredients of Bliss.

Bottom Line: HER SECRET INGREDIENT is one book I recommend for lovers of erotic romance set in the kitchen. With elements of light D/s thrown in, fans of that genre will also be pleased.
