SUMMARY
All her life, Emma longed for someone to love. Instead, disaster sees the brand-new bard banished from her people for long lonely years. Injured saving a child, the werebear has to steal food from humans, breaking shifter Law. The territory's Cosantir and his lethal grizzly warrior catch her in the act. To her surprise, she's healed and welcomed. Obviously, they don't know her past. But oh, she can't resist being around other shifters—especially the captivatingly powerful warrior. Maybe she can stay…just a little while.

As a grizzly warrior, Ben is ordered to house the pretty werebear until she heals. His littermate abandoned him, his home is empty, and he's been alone for a long time. Intelligent and sweet and lushly curved, Emma is a delight…even if she is oddly reticent about her past. Although having sworn off females, he's sorely tempted by this one. Damned if he doesn't want to keep her, secrets or not.

Females were trouble. Years past, one split Ryder from his littermate. Now the panther shifter is returning to Ben, bringing his cub with him, a four-year-old he stole from the abusive female. To Ryder's annoyance, his brother is sheltering a wounded bear. A female. Even worse, she's beautiful and gentle and loving—damned if he's going to fall for that act again. But when the dark of the moon arrives and death reigns supreme, he'll discover that not all females are alike.

In a world filled with hellhounds and pixies, can three lonely shifters and one silent cub create a new family together?

Emma has had more than her share of grief. Banished from her shifter community, the bear shifter gets injured, which means certain death.

That is, until she's rescued and ends up in the hands of another bear shifter. Author Cherise Sinclair writes a beautiful erotic paranormal menage in EVENTIDE OF THE BEAR, the third book in The Wild Hunt Legacy series.

Even though it is part of a series, I had no problems reading it as a standalone. However, I do plan to pick up the other books because this is a phenomenal storyline.

A lot of credit goes to the author because pulling off a storyline like this takes a lot of effort. Ms. Sinclair delivers in a big way with multi-dimensional characters that go beyond a physical connection. While the erotic aspect is incredibly well integrated into the story, there is a solid plot with plenty of twists and turns. I was especially impressed with Emma and the way her keen sense of rejection was communicated to the reader.

All aspects of this story -- paranormal, erotic and menage -- mesh perfectly to deliver an entertaining read full of emotion and a solid dose of spice.

Where have I been that I did not read this series? A devoted fan of Ms. Sinclair's kinky Gateway to BDSM stories, her paranormal books win me over a second time. After reading this book, I rushed to purchase the first two books so I can read them. I read this book as a standalone and was fine following it. I will be going back to read the first two books in the series. For readers who have never read any shifter books, this is an excellent series to start. Or I should say, this is a good Gateway to Shifter Romance.

Emma may come from a wealthy background with a strict mother, but she is poor in love and friends. This is a particularly dangerous deficit to have, when one is a shifter. As a bear shifter, young Emma is solitary and shy. When she tries her first mating orgy without any preparation, disaster strikes. Forced to live away from all others, Emma should have perished. Emma may be quiet, but she is a fighter.

I loved the characters in this story. Ms. Sinclair is gifted in her character creations. I loved Emma, Ben and Ryder. Each of these are characters who tug at one's heart string. They are all good people with a troubled past. These characters and their trauma could be trite. Ms. Sinclair writes it with a fresh viewpoint and pulls the reader deep under her spell. Emma is the tenderhearted innocent female who only wants to be accepted and loved. Ben is the one left behind and trying to make a life without his beloved brother. Ryder is the prodigal brother who returns with a small adorable female cub in tow.

This story could just be a happy ménage, but it is much more. The reader travels to a world where different animal shifters comingle. There are packs and there are alliances. Magic is involved with a goddess and god's blessings. Hellhounds are to be fought. Betrayals are revealed. Love lost is found.

This is a rich story with plot, character development and a dangerous supernatural world. This is a pageturner which kept my attention from the first few pages. This story is highly recommended to ménage readers who enjoy paranormal romance and want it all.
