SAVING MADDIE'S BABY is full of suspenseful events as Maddie (a doctor) is trapped inside a mine when she was trying to rescue a miner. To top it off, she's pregnant and about to go into labor! Her ex-husband Josh, part of a search and rescue team, goes off to rescue her. Would he reach her and her baby in time?

I have to commend the author for painting a realistic picture of the characters as doctors, supported by the medical terms and knowledge that seem to be a part of them. Either she did her research very well, or she has medical experience. The story proceed along at a clip, suspenseful pace, peppered by texts and calls between Josh and Maddie which apprised us of their emotional situation, that while they still love and care for each other, Josh has issues which was the cause of their earlier break-up, and until they can resolve it, there's no happy ever after for them.

However, while the events were suspenseful and I enjoyed the story and the characters' situation and conflict, I thought that the writing didn't have much impact. If this could be amended, this story would've read better.
