Monica is the middle sibling and professional bodyguard turned personal security consultant who is fiercely protective of her friends and family, especially Danya. Ben's two young goddaughters are the only eye witnesses to a crime that's committed by a prospective partner with The Fellowship. Chapter headings refer to the handling of firearms.
One man's ability to see in the dark saves a woman and her children in "III. Night Vision." Laine Descartes is the forsaken daughter of the wealthy Descartes family. With her young niece and her own baby boy, Laine's on the run from her powerful brother-in-law, who's fending off a hostile takeover of his company by The Fellowship. Warwick Fullerton is a professor and civilian hostage negotiator.
