Paranormal Romance

Zhubaal, fallen angel assistant to the Grim Reaper, has spent decades searching for the angel he loved and lost nearly a century ago. Not even her death can keep him from trying to find her, not when he knows she's been given a second chance at life in a new body. But as time passes, he's losing hope, and he wonders how much longer he can hold to the oath he swore to her so long ago…

As an emim, the wingless offspring of two fallen angels, Vex has always felt like a second-class citizen. But if she manages to secure a deal with the Grim Reaper — by any means necessary — she will have earned her place in the world. The only obstacle in the way of her plan is a sexy hardass called Z, who seems determined to thwart her at every turn. Soon it becomes clear that they have a powerful connection rooted in the past…but can any vow stand the test of time?

Once again, Ms. Ione has invited us mere mortals into this dark and dangerous underworld full of demons and fallen angels that you can't help but become obsessed with!

Damn it, Vex just HATES being a demon soul magnet, especially when the soul in question is a crazy powerful succubus. Usually she's able to sell the souls for a tidy profit, but since the market has dried up, she's on her way to see the Grim Reaper and get these assholes out of her! When she meets the Grim Reaper's assistant Zhubaal...Z...she can't figure out why she's incredibly drawn to the powerful fallen angel.

Z has been searching for his love Laura for centuries, after death left her soul in hell and she was reincarnated. Now he's finally found her inside of Vex, and he has absolutely no idea what to do about it. He's got to get Laura's soul out of the woman with the seriously appropriate name, maybe then he'll stop being attracted to the female who is nothing like his perfect, virginal betrothed. Faithful to the woman he promised himself to so long ago, can he resist the pull Vex has on him, or will they succumb to the blind lust that keeps drawing them together?

I've got to get my hands on more books in Ms. Ione's Demonica series, because I love every single one I've read! Z is also a stand-alone book in the innovative and fun 1001 Dark Nights series featuring sensual and erotic stories by a variety of popular authors inspired by the classic The Arabian Nights tale. I love the completely unique world that Ms. Ione has created with these books, totally unlike anything I've read and one I never thought I'd enjoy. As someone who isn't a huge fan of supernatural reads, I'm nonetheless always captivated by these wild and erotic books, and Z is no exception!

Vex is badass, a fighter with a body full of souls that she attracts like a magnet and enough attitude to spare. Z is a former powerful covert-ops type angel who fell long ago in an attempt to find his Laura, and who now works as the right hand man to the Grim Reaper. It's so bizarre to read about a sexy warrior who's been utterly celibate forEVER, but it totally worked in this dark and strange world. The chemistry and delicious sex between them was as droolworthy as the storyline (the scene when the two go to Cali to grab a potion? Damn that was bizarrely hot!). And the humor that runs through the storyline proves that the author doesn't take herself too seriously. Witness:

Vex was never getting on Facebook again. Happy people and their grammatically challenged memes annoyed the shit out of her.

Me too Vex, me too.

Bottom Line: Even if you don't typically go for paranormal reads, do yourself a favor and give this one a shot – you'll be glad you did! Ms. Ione's fabulously creative and brilliantly demented mind will suck you in and you won't ever want to leave!!
