From the frying pan...
Abby Manning has to take home first prize in an amateur cooking competition to save her town's landmark inn-and longtime home for her ailing grandmother. Too bad the Butterfly Harbor innkeeper is a complete disaster in the kitchen. Undeterred, Abby asks her latest guest to teach her the basics.
A family tragedy and ensuing scandal derailed Jason Corwin's high-profile career. But is the gifted celebrity chef going to let one mistake define the rest of his life? Add in a generous helping of mutual attraction and another burgeoning scandal, and it could be a recipe for star-crossed romance...or disaster, especially if a win for Abby costs Jason his professional future.

RECIPE FOR REDEMPTION by Anna J. Stewart had me chuckling almost from the get go. Abby Manning is the innkeeper for the town's landmark inn and an absolute disaster in the kitchen. Jason Corwin is a celebrity chef running from the spotlight who ends up a guest at the inn. Add in a cooking competition, put the inn on the line, and we have the necessary ingredients for a great novel.
There are so many things that take place in this novel (including internal thoughts and dialogue) that are laugh out loud funny, so be careful where you read this. At the very least, you'll be grinning from ear to ear, especially in the kitchen scenes.
And simply being herself in all her messy, disastrous, charming, best of intention ways, Abby manages to draw Jason out of the dark hole he'd retreated to and given him something to fight for.
From start to finish, this is a story about redemption for both Abby and Jason. It's a story of being at your lowest and realizing that there's something out there to work for. That no matter what people say or how bad things can be, there are still cheerleaders out there rooting for you to succeed, even if you have to be your own (cheerleader that is).
RECIPE FOR REDEMPTION is a lovely romance that will leave you smiling with the reminder that there really can be happily ever afters.
