Darren Bridge is living a bachelor's dream. When he's not running into burning buildings with his crew, he's training the flavor of the week at his brother's gym. Few women have ever been off limits...until Vanessa. Smart, beautiful, and legs for days, she's unlike anyone he's ever met. Too bad he's sworn to leave her alone.
Overworked with no end in sight, Vanessa Hawkins hasn't had a vacation in nearly two years. When Cameron and Maya's destination wedding takes her out of the office for a much-needed break, she finds herself struggling to resist her attraction to the best man. Darren is dangerously good-looking with enough charm to make any hot-blooded woman want to drop her panties and enjoy the ride, no matter how long it lasts.
When they return to the city, Darren realizes the single life has lost its glimmer. But with everything else on her plate, Vanessa doesn't have room in her life for a man, let alone a player. Can Darren find his way into her heart and convince her that he's worth the risk?

As the second book in the Bridge series about a group of NYC siblings, I worried about how much I'd enjoy it without the benefit of having read book one, but I was pleasantly surprised here!!
NYFD member Darren Bridge is a notorious manwhore, but something about his brother's fiancee's BFF Vanessa Hawkins intrigues the hell out of him. When the two of them are in Grand Cayman for the wedding, the sparks that have flown since the two met can no longer be denied.
Vanessa isn't a casual sex kinda girl, but if that's all Darren has to give, she might make an exception…dude is THAT hot! Except that Darren doesn't do anything by half measures, and when he decides he wants Vanessa, he goes all out. But between Darren's old hookups and Vanessa's needy boss, it seems forces are doing their best to keep them apart.
INTO THE FIRE is the second book in the Bridge series, and it's a fun and sexy read that will breathe some fresh life into your summer reading lineup. How yummy is Darren?!? An NYFD firefighter who has a great relationship with his siblings, is overall respectful to women (though that encounter with Raina was a little iiffy). He's a genuine hero, a good guy, and Vanessa just knocks him flat on his cute little ass. I liked this couple together; they have a good spark and the chemistry was most certainly there! The sex scenes were hot too, though not as decadent as I anticipated.
Bottom Line: There's nothing earth shattering or deep in INTO THE FIRE, but for a sexy pool or beach read, it's perfect!
