Erotic Romance, Paranormal Romance, Vamps & Shifters Romance

Jonah Lawson is a wolf with secrets. Fate has dealt him a shabby hand, so, long ago, he decided to lead a solitary life, never to inflict his tortured past on any female. He takes his pleasures outside the pack with human women, and that works just fine and dandy until the exquisite Camille Robineau arrives at the compound claiming relative status to his alpha, and he knows he's in serious trouble.

With his protective armor slipping, he treats her with sardonic indifference, but when the headstrong, reckless Camille goes missing, he realizes she's taken his heart along with her. His wolf senses ignite and he leads a search party to find her that ends with dire consequences no one could have foreseen and leaves Camille making a sacrifice that will impact the rest of her life.

She never thought that she would meet father, as he was supposedly dead, but that she would also meet her mate.

This is the second installment in the Heritage series by Ms. Macadam. I do have to say that I was a little lost in the beginning and I should have read the first book in this series. There were so many names being thrown at me that I had no idea who was who. But then I kept on reading and I learned who the siblings were that stayed with their mother and who was the lone wolf that stayed with his father. When Cam and Cody were introduced, I loved them from the very beginning; they were true siblings that mess around with each other. Then Caleb and Conner were introduced and that's when the confusion started. There were too many "C" names.

Camille Robineau's life and of course her family's life is about to be rocked. She is a beautiful white wolf that has dreams and one day she would go to Hawaii with her best friend. But before that happens, there is a visitor that is going to shock everyone and her mother has some explaining to do. I loved Cam's character; she was full of life and she was very mischievous. I think her being a little rebel is what connected me to her. She was not afraid of anything and she was a very loyal person. Cam was a woman that you wanted on your side. She had speed and that speed was going to help her mate but first she needed to find him.

Jonah Lawson is the beta for his pack and his alpha has left to find his twin brother and his mother. But one day a woman shows up in their territory and there is no way that he is going to let her see Caleb's father without finding out the truth. He is a strong beta and he will do anything to protect his pack while Caleb is away. They have been having problems with hunters that want to experiment on wolves. There is this connection between Cam and Jonah, but before they can explore further, he is captured and his only hope is Cam.

WOLF AT THE DOOR is an exceptional short read. When I started reading this story, I couldn't put it down; it captivated me and I wanted to know what would happen when Cam would meet her father. What would he do? Did he know that he had another son and daughter besides Conner? Jonah was a great character; he was loyal and smart. When his story was told, my heart was crushed he went through so much when he was just a cub and I loved that he let Cam decide if she wanted to mate with him. There was a moment there that I thought he would chicken out but he told his story and let her decide.

I do have one complaint and that was with the parents and Conner. I wanted to know how they would behaved if they were in one room together, and if they could act civilized. When Cam met with Cameron, their father, there were some unanswered questions that were left up in the air. I really hope that Ms. Macadam clears up some of these questions in future books. There was an unexpected character that I feel in love with and that was Cougar; I really hope that he opens up and gets better.

These characters were well developed and the pace of the story was perfect. I loved the storyline. The writing is flawless, the story was addictive and I was enthralled. The chemistry between the characters is sizzling HOT and they were perfect for each other. It has been awhile since I've read a paranormal and it seems that I have found a new series. I can't wait to see whose book is next!!
