Part of me wants to scream and curse at Ms. Ryan for giving me just a little bit of the goodness, only to snatch away the prize like a rigged claw machine. And the other part wants to make her a tin foil crown (I'm not a Pinterest Princess) and bow to her fabulousness.
When we last saw Noah and Olivia, he was left at the altar, confused, worried and pissed off. Yes, their relationship started because of a clause in their dads' wills, but Noah thought certainly it was more than that now! When he finds out what truly caused her to flee, the two work it out, realizing that when it comes to each other, they're stronger together. Suddenly the two can't keep their hands off each other, but Noah's hiding a huge secret, one he fears will have Olivia leaving him before he even gets the whole thing off his chest. How the hell has he gotten himself into this mess with the woman he's pretty sure he's fallen in love with?
So, if you haven't picked up the first Hitched book, I'm kinda wondering why the hell not!? Have I steered you wrong before? Do you not trust me!? This second book picks up immediately where the first left us hanging (with our mouths open and pulling up calendars to find the release date for #2). Noah and Olivia have gone from frenemies to a force to be reckoned with, both realizing that they're stronger united. And Ms. Ryan is FUNNY, irreverently so. Witness:
"Do you mind if I close the door?" he asks.
I nod. "Of course not." So far his visit is eerily similar to Olivia's, but if he thinks I'm eating his ass on my desk, he's dead fucking wrong.
Mmmhmm, the sex might take a while to get to, but when it comes (pun totally intended), it's delish. I'm loving the witty dialogue between the sheets and in the boardroom with these two, and I'm literally DYING to find out how the everything plays out in this trilogy, because Ms. Ryan is a devious sadist who is likely rubbing her hands together in glee at her fans' collective "NOOOOOO" when they reach the end. Cue the pre-order sales report for HITCHED: Volume Three. Well played, Ms. Ryan, well played.
Bottom Line: Get it. Now. Make HITCHED the very next serial on your TBR list. You can thank me later.
