These Royals will ruin you…
From wharf fights and school brawls to crumbling lives inside glittery mansions, one guy tries to save himself.
Reed Royal has it all―looks, status, money. The girls at his elite prep school line up to date him, the guys want to be him, but Reed never gave a damn about anyone but his family until Ella Harper walked into his life.
What started off as burning resentment and the need to make his father's new ward suffer turned into something else entirely―keep Ella close. Keep Ella safe. But when one foolish mistake drives her out of Reed's arms and brings chaos to the Royal household, Reed's entire world begins to fall apart around him.
Ella doesn't want him anymore. She says they'll only destroy each other.
She might be right.
Secrets. Betrayal. Enemies. It's like nothing Reed has ever dealt with before, and if he's going to win back his princess, he'll need to prove himself Royally worthy.

How much more damage can the Royals do before they can't pay anyone off any longer?
When we last saw Ella and Reed, Ella was devastated by his betrayal and made the decision to leave the Royal household. She's been on her own before, so what if she has to do it again!? Now Callum and his sons are on the hunt to bring her back home before something happens to her. Reed is beside himself with guilt and hurt, and he'll do anything to ensure the girl he's fallen so hard for feels safe and loved.
Meanwhile, Astor Park Prep is tearing itself apart from the inside out, and when Ella returns, she gets the brunt of the bad behavior. But with a bitch trying to take over the Royal house, and a truly evil stepmother, these snooty high school rich girls are child's play. Will Ella forgive Reed or will they return to barely concealed hatred before the house of cards come tumbling down?
BROKEN PRINCE is the 2nd book in The Royals series, and in it we get a better understanding of why Reed and his brothers are so fucked up. Featuring both Reed and Ella's POV, the heartbreak is seen from both sides of the story. Now, once again I'll state emphatically that I don't typically "do" YA/NA books. Ella's not even 18, but it's the Royal boys who give a whole new meaning to bad boy behavior, from daddy Callum down to the menage loving 16-year-old twins. We have underage/barely legal sex with predatory women, manipulative gold digging baby mama blackmail and a ton of drinking that just makes me shake my head, and not in a good way.
Old prude ways aside, I continue to dig Ella's attitude and strength, how she stands up for herself because she's been through so much worse already. Reed, however, went through a total personality transplant, from jerky asshat to sweet and loving boyfriend between the first and second book. Easton went from fun-loving goofball boyslut to moody, distant and angry all the time, and even Callum made changes for the better. They must be pumping some extra chemicals in the air at casa Royal for these folks to go from one extreme to the other.
Bottom Line: While the writing was good (and edited brilliantly), I didn't care for this plot and overall story as much as I did for Paper Princess. I've read tons of excellent raving reviews on BROKEN PRINCE though, so this is definitely one you should pick up and judge for yourself.
