Katya Alkaev is the Dominatrix that makes other Dommes quake in their boots. She wants her men strong enough to take whatever pleasurable torment she can dish out. When she's offered the chance to train a new submissive with strong alpha qualities it's a challenge she cannot resist.
John Laredo is an MMA fighter who dominates his opponents in the cage, but wants nothing more than to relinquish power in the bedroom. Reconciling these two halves of his personality is difficult enough, but finding the right Domme is nearly impossible. Then Katya enters his life and Laredo discovers what it means to willingly submit.
When Katya and Laredo meet it's lust at first sight. Laying her crop against his beautiful body is an experience she'll never get enough of. But when the knots are untied and only the man and the woman remain, Katya realizes that this submissive could challenge her control in ways she never dreamed possible.

Da Capo El Fine is an Italian musical term that means to stop where you are and start again from the beginning. An apt title for all things BDSM!
MMA fighter John Laredo is an all around Alpha in his day job, but in the bedroom he wants the woman to take charge, demand obedience…maybe spank him a bit. He turns to BDSM club Triptych, meeting Dominatrix Katya Alkaev, who he senses immediately will be the one who finally makes him feel at peace in his body. Katya doesn't do relationships, and she hasn't taken a sub in a very long time. An odd mix of confidence and submission, Laredo calls to Katya in a way she's never felt before. She feels at ease yet on edge around the gorgeous man and she finds herself breaking all of her self-imposed rules about D/s relationships.
I've never much been into the Dominatrix storylines, but Ms. Maitland knows how to brilliantly weave an incredibly erotic story that somehow feels sensual and magical. DA CAPO EL FINE is book 7 (and sadly, it looks like the last) in the Boston Avant-Garde series, and each and every one of these books have just had a fascinating lyrical swirl around them. Katya was certainly a damaged woman, keeping herself apart from anyone who might become too close and get hurt. Laredo is an enigma, completely strong and packed with adrenaline, the peace and contentment he finds at submitting, or at finding a woman strong enough to submit to, is heady. The two together had that crackling chemistry that was palpable, in and out of the bedroom. I liked that they both softened as, together, they grew impenetrable.
Most of the scenes were moderate BDSM…crops, cock cages, bondage, etc, and there was one shocking yet yummy MM scenes that had me positively drooling. I'm pretty sure I caught a fly in there at one point.
Bottom Line: I can't recommend this series enough. It's a little geeky, a little odd and overall super freakin' sexy.
