After she learns of her mysterious beginnings amidst her mother's keepsakes, she faces more than just the river rushing outside her door. Now, she must discern friend from foe…but as waters rise and tension climbs within Timber Springs, she needs to rise to the challenge or lose the only man she's ever loved.

One of the challenges of jumping into a series out of sequence is the risk of missing important details. Although THROUGH RAGING WATERS is the second installment in the Snowy Ridge Chronicles, I found that author Renee Blare did an excellent job of creating a standalone story.
What stood out the most to me was the amount of description used to create the setting. I found myself easily able to picture Wyoming and all the dangers created by Mother Nature. As a romantic suspense novel, there was definitely plenty of naturally occurring suspense.
Another key area that I think the author focused on was character development, especially the dialog. While I had some difficulty keeping track off the characters because there were so many, I found their interactions to be interesting.
The story itself gets high marks for development, but I would have loved more depth from the romantic aspect. Still, it was an enjoyable story.
