From the author of the Fate series and The Deep End of the Sea comes a fantastical romantic adventure that has Alice tumbling down the strangest rabbit hole yet.
After years in Wonderland, Alice has returned to England as an adult, desperate to reclaim sanity and control over her life. An enigmatic gentleman with an intriguing job offer too tempting to resist changes her plans for a calm existence, though. Soon, she's whisked to New York and initiated into the Collectors' Society, a secret organization whose members confirm that famous stories are anything but straightforward and that what she knows about the world is only a fraction of the truth.
It's there she discovers villains are afoot—ones who want to shelve the lives of countless beings. Assigned to work with the mysterious and alluring Finn, Alice and the rest of the Collectors' Society race against a doomsday clock in order to prevent further destruction . . . but will they make it before all their endings are erased?
* This is the first book in the adult romance/fairy tale Collectors' Society series.

What happens to Alice once her years in Wonderland go from youthful imagination to adult delusions? Locked away in an insane asylum in England, Alice isn't sure she's ready for release, but when she's presented with the opportunity to save Wonderland from extinction, she's compelled to help. She's taken to modern day NYC where she's introduced to The Collectors' Society, a group of literary figures tasked with ensuring that their stories stay safe.
Paired up with the delectable Huckleberry Finn is just icing on the tiny little "eat me" cake! The two of them, along with Mary Lennox and Victor Frankenstein, head to Wonderland to collect the catalyst that will save the land from destruction.
I've been a huge Alice in Wonderland lover since Carol Channing and Ringo Starr and Sammy Davis Jr. and Merv Griffin and so many other cultural icons came together in the 80's TV movie, so for me, this…this is EPIC!! Not a typical fan of the fantasy genre, I agreed to review this one because I love any story featuring the feisty Alice. In THE COLLECTORS' SOCIETY, Ms. Lyons created a very cool storyline as Alice deals with her years in Wonderland...the addictions, the horrors, the friendships, the danger, the love, the overall strangeness of that world.
This book is really difficult to explain succinctly, but don't let it put you off because you would really be missing out on something special here. I think we all know that Disney didn't really portray the darkness of the original story, so getting Alice as such a badass heroine was fabulous (or Frabjous). I went nuts over Huckleberry Finn as her Collectors' Society partner and lover. And when they enter Wonderland...it's a much more sexually charged placed than dear ole' Walt envisioned, for sure. Orgies and raves and sex hiding in every corner of their world...it's the best vision of Wonderland I've ever encountered! Truly, I don't want to explain too much of what happens, as everyone should go into this novel with an open mind, a vivid imagination and a willingness to envision the fanciful.
Bottom Line: EVERYTHING about THE COLLECTORS' SOCIETY is tailor-made for fans of adult fairy tales, fantasy romance and, of course, Alice in Wonderland. Enjoy!!
