They found their mate and tried to give her time to grow more before making a claim. When she suddenly disappears, they work to hide their pain and focus on their pack. Now, she is back and they discover they have made a terrible mistake. She did not leave on her own. She was violently abducted and has suffered years of abuse. Can they heal the wounds of the past and find their way together?
Faith was only nineteen when she met Ty and Trent. She really loved them and wanted more than friendship but they never asked for more. One day, she is abducted. She suffers years of abuse and only survives to protect the other victims as much as she can. When she is rescued and returned to them, the battle truly begins. They thought she had abandoned them and she realizes at that point that they were the ones that abandoned her to the abuse. Faith will have to be very strong to heal the wounds from the abuse and decide if she can find a way back to them. She is a tough woman but has problems being direct with others. It leads to misunderstandings that cause real harm to the relationship.
Ty and Trent are the Grey River pack Alphas. They recognized Faith was their mate as soon as they scented her at the diner. They believed that she needed time to grow up so they focused on friendship. When she suddenly disappears without a goodbye, they feel betrayed. They do their best to push back the bond and lead their pack. When they find her and discover the truth, they don't know how to heal the wounds. They want their mate but are not sure if she will ever forgive them for giving up on her. They also have to forgive themselves for giving up on her. As in many menage romances, the author makes one male the more impatient, rougher one and the other the more sensitive one that is gentler with their partner. It was pretty much the major difference between the brothers.
The title of the book has several meanings. They lost their mate Faith and they lost faith in their mate when they believed she left them voluntarily. There are some real wounds that need to be healed among them all. They don't tend to be honest for fear of upsetting one another and it leads to a great deal of pain. As a reader, I was frustrated at times with all of the characters. I wanted them to be more open with their feelings. They wanted to protect each other so they kept important information from each other. It seems like after learning how secrets lead to some of their issues they would have learned from that and changed but they kept making the same mistakes. There are also unresolved elements of the storyline that leave you still wondering at the end.
The abuse Faith and the others faced may be difficult for some readers. There isn't a lot of graphic detail provided which I prefer but it is a large part of the storyline. The healing part of the storyline is kind of rushed for me. Most victims of sexual abuse needs years of therapy to try to come to terms with the situation and much more than just talking to someone on the phone. Faith may be stronger than some but it seemed unrealistic. I would have preferred the author show her making progress but not rush the process as much.
Overall, this book combines the menage and paranormal genres which are two of my favorites to read. You have two hot alpha wolf shifters that want their mate but decide to wait until she is older to pursue her. When she disappears, they believe she left them. She has actually been abducted and abused for years until she is rescued. The characters can be a little frustrating with their continued desire to keep information from each other and it leads to major trust issues. The book deals with the serious issue of sexual abuse but rushes a little too quickly for my tastes to resolve it. I definitely think the characters have good chemistry but would have enjoyed the story more if I had felt there was real development in the characters and their relationship.

LOST FAITH is the first book in a new series by Maia Dylan. We meet the residents of Grey River, a shifter town known as a safe place, and their young but strong Alphas. Ty and Trent met their mate, went through the Quickening, but decided not to act on it as she was only 19, showing a strength that most shifters don't possess. Just when they decide to tell her what is going on, she leaves town. They look for her, but circumstances seem to show that she has moved north to a new job. So they do the impossible and close the link between her and them. So when a twister throws new light on the subject, they have information thrown at them. How will they cope with the knowledge of what they have/haven't done?
This is one helluva introduction to Grey River. Faith has endured what no one should have to, and I didn't blame her one bit when her brain decided she needed a break! She was 100% correct in her opinion of what Ty and Trent had done, and I loved that they actually heard what she had to say, rather than just listening! The sparks definitely fly between these three, and I can't wait to read more of them. What is happening to Rowena though??!! I have a pair in mind that I think will be perfect for her (not mentioning any Chris and Noah names!), and really want to 'see' her. I will just have to wait though.
Incredibly written, full of emotion, plenty of steam, and no editing or grammatical errors to disrupt the reading flow. Definitely recommended by me.
