THE CRAZY CAT LADIES: NINE NEW CONTEMPORARY AND PARANORMAL ROMANCES is a collection of stories with, of course, a crazy cat lady as the female lead. The thing I do enjoy about anthologies is there's something for everyone and hopefully more than one story will catch and keep your attention. For me, there were four out of the nine stories that I found engaging and of those four, two had characters that I became emotionally drawn to where I wanted their relationships to succeed. Those were "The Vet and the Geek" by Sydney Bristol and "Sanctuary" by Sukie Chapin. Of note, "Sanctuary" ends on a huge cliffhanger, which I found completely frustrating, as there was no mention of it prior to the start of the story. Even more frustrating because the characters are fantastic and I absolutely loved Indy's running of the mouth to the point I was getting looks as I giggled aloud.

Likes: With anthologies, we're given a glimpse into the stories of nine different authors, each providing a fresh take on a generalized theme, but yet, each story takes its own turn to where they're unique and very much NOT formulaic.

Dislikes: Of the remaining five stories that ranked farther down the list for me, the reasons evolved around an unlikable female lead or a plot line that dragged too much for me. I found myself not caring whether the girl would get the guy and was plodding through the stories hoping they would get better and they didn't.

Your feelings on the stories might be different as is your ranking of the stories (which I did not include).
