Hannah Clark used to be an ordinary girl. She used to be a lot of things. Until she was bitten.

Five months ago, Hannah woke up in the middle of the woods as a vampire. She didn't know how it happened or who turned her. She just knew she wasn't safe in her hometown anymore.

Fort Wayne was supposed to be her fresh start. Her chance to finish high school without any other incidents. But then she met Jackson. Their attraction was instant and awakened something deep inside of her. Her thirst for blood.

Things only got worse when her maker, Lucas, came to town. He might have been sexy, but he was one dangerous vampire. And if Hannah wanted to keep Jackson safe, she had to protect him from Lucas' ravenous ways. Even though she found herself excited by them.

But Lucas wasn't there for her. Something sinister was happening in town. Vampires were going missing, and if Hannah didn't want to be next, she had to work with Lucas to solve the mystery. But could she trust him? Or should she trust Jackson? She had to make a choice—and her life might just depend on it.

Hannah Clark is a high school senior who's just moved to Fort Wayne with her mother, and loves that she now has a clean slate with no one knowing she's been up to previously. We're told that several months before moving she had found herself waking up in the nearby forest without any knowledge of how she got there. While some readers would have liked to have had more of the backstory of how she got there, I feel not having it adds to the intrigue which the story contains. When she did wake up that day she finds she's now a full-blown vampire without any idea of who had given her the fatal bite.

All is going well for Hannah, Jackson, a senior jock at school is attracted to her, and she's likewise instantly attracted to him, however this causes the vampire within her to emerge. At about the same time, Hannah's maker, Lucas, arrives in her town and seeks her out to assist him in solving a mystery as to why other vampires are disappearing. Not wanting to become the next missing vampire Hannah reluctantly agrees to assist Lucas, at the same time she knows Lucas can be quite dangerous.

Hannah knows she must protect Jackson, with whom she now has a sexually relationship with, and who has no idea of her being a vampire. At the same time, she's also had a sexual relationship with Lucas, attracted by his predatory behavior. With things coming to a head, Hannah doesn't know who she should trust, especially since her life now depends on it.

There are quite a few red herrings in this story, which causes the reader to want to read more. However, given the sexual scenes this book contains negates it being a young adult book, and at best I would make it to be more appropriate being classified as a New Adult story. I can see why the author has given her book the title she has, but personally I feel a better title might have been "Where Have the Vampires Gone?" With all things considered I'm happy to give Ms. Current 4 STARS for her endeavor here.
