Paranormal Romance, Vamps & Shifters Romance

On the run . . .

Attempting to flee from a bank robbery he was blackmailed into, Chimera-shifter and former Army Ranger Tyler Gunn is a desperate man. Reeling from what he believes is the death of his twin, he knows he can't control his lion if he's arrested and he fears killing innocent people. His only hope is to get somewhere far away, where he can safely surrender to the feral side that has gnawed away at his humanity and is now a whisker away from locking him in his lion, forever.

Reporter Zara Coventry is having a bad day. Her feet hurt, her mom is pressuring her to move back to California, her co-worker has snaked a story out from under her, and worst of all, she hasn't had a date in so long, the mere picture of one of the escaped twins from the bank gets her all hot and bothered. What the hell is that all about? Then a tall stranger shields her from an explosion and things go completely downhill.

When Zara recognizes Ty, he has no choice. He must take her hostage. Too many lives are at stake. The plan is to release her as soon as it's safe, but his lion is revealed and despite her fear, Zara smells the story of a lifetime. Their fates are not their own, however. A major snowstorm strands them in a tiny conservative village in the Ozarks and they are forced to pretend to be husband and wife.

Trapped together, Zara has to remind herself pretty much every time she looks at him that the sexy shapeshifter is a criminal. And though Ty knows she's his mate, he believes he's too unstable to give in to the burning desire he feels when she's near.

But forbidden longing and the FBI are not the only threats. The cartel has lost an airplane in the storm and they'll do anything to get their product back. Even kill.

He is desperate. On the run from the FBI, he takes a reporter hostage when she recognizes him. He knows she is his mate. He can't tell her what he really is or she will run from him. Or will she?

Ty and his brother were forced to participate in a bank robbery. They are now on the run. He is a rare shifter that has several forms including a chimera and lion. He has less control than his twin brother and is terrified of being locked up again if he is caught by the FBI. When he saves a reporter on the scene of the robbery from danger, he is forced to take her as his hostage after she recognizes him. He knows she is his mate but doesn't think he can offer her anything but danger.

Zara is a reporter and something recently drove her to move to the area from California. She didn't expect to become part of the story when one of the bank robbers saves her. As she spends more time with Ty, she feels a real connection. She sees that he is not the dangerous man that law enforcement is portraying. Ty's shifter abilities don't scare her either. She is more afraid he won't believe in his own strength and take a chance on love.

This is the fourth book in the Chimera Chronicles. I recommend you read the series in order to get the most enjoyment. This book starts right after the previous story and there are many characters that were part of the other books. You will feel more connected to the story if you have read the other books but I do think you can follow along pretty well.

This series has a good mix of romance and action. Ty and Zara have an immediate attraction and he knows she is his mate. The chemistry between the two is very evident and you want them to act on those feelings. Ty tries to fight the need to claim his mate as they are on a dangerous journey. They are working hard to keep ahead of law enforcement. Every person they meet could report them. When they are trapped in a small town due to a storm, they face some additional threats. The author really keeps you in suspense as you wait and wonder which threat might end it all for them.

The Chimera Chronicles is a very good paranormal series about a group of rare shifters that have multiple forms. Two of the brothers are forced to participate into a bank robbery. The robbery brings danger but also introduces them to their mates. It is a great story with lots of action and romance and I recommend you read the books in order to get the most enjoyment.
