A GOOD BARGAIN is the first book I've read by DC Juris and I was thrilled with the story. Every once in a while, I like to read a short story and examine how an author handles character and plot development within a very limited number of pages. This story delivers on all fronts. Both characters are well developed and the plot is both engaging and entertaining.
David, 40 and newly single after having divorced a woman, picks up Brandon, a man almost 20 years his junior. His emotions from the start are those of a man who is insecure and questioning what he has just gotten himself into. Brandon is portrayed as the energetic, ever-sexual youngster. When David finally succumbs to his baser desires, something inside of him unleashes and his sexual dominance awakens, to Brandon's great pleasure. The sex is written to portray how carnal and emotional desires are fulfilled and is deeply satisfying. The dynamic between the two men creates beautiful tension.
A GOOD BARGAIN was a wonderful short read, one that examines the intricacies of doubt and desire, distinctions between generations, and most importantly, the universal concept that we all want someone who fulfills our physical and emotional needs
All-in-all, a delightful read. I look forward to seeking additional titles by this author.
