5 redemptive, soulmate loving, tear-filled stars.
The suicide of Saige Phillips' dad is something that weighs heavily on her mind, even ten years later. Now working for Jackson-Hamilton Aviation, she's already making her name in the company as a woman who can get things done, catching the eye of VP Holt Hamilton in the process. Holt knows everything about Saige and her family's past, and he wants to know a hell of a lot more about the gorgeous woman who makes his heart pound. After a dare has Saige asking Holt on a date, he's more than happy to take the reins. But Saige is in no good place for a relationship, despite how tempted she might be by a Superman lookalike. Can Holt convince her to let him in, or will Saige find out the huge secret he's been keeping from her?
OHHH, y'all, this is a good one! DARE ME was sexy as hell with a nice mild dose of intrigue that kept me captivated and reading deep into the night. The wicked chemistry between Saige and Holt stole the show completely, and the tone of the novel kept me on edge waiting for the Loubouton to drop. Their sex scenes were so delicious, never anything super kinky, but they definitely heated up the bedroom (and office and balcony and hotel window). The settings were so vivid and gorgeous that I really felt like I was having dinner in Brooklyn and running along Lake Michigan in Chicago and visiting a farm in North Dakota. The closer I got to the end, I realized that this freakin' novel was going to GUT ME, and slice away it did. But in the end, this novel wound up very satisfying. I want more!!
Bottom Line: No OM/OW or sharing; brief condom use; no BDSM/kink; no sexual assault; mild violence, graphic suicide scene; no murder.
