Lyrics Heart & Soul
One of America's most reclusive rockers, Ryder Vaughn, gets an unusual sentence handed down to him. The judge, hoping to teach him the value of human life, sentences him to ten months of community service at Reach Within Centre for individuals with special needs. He is forced to accept the deal or forfeit his famous band's livelihood.
Ryder is convinced that, if he isn't crazy already, he will be by the time his sentence ends.
Five minutes after stepping into the centre, he meets a gorgeous little spitfire who will challenge everything he has ever believed about himself and the world around him.
Francesca's devotion has always been to her family, friends, and the job she is passionate about. Her life hasn't been easy. She sacrifices a lot, for the ones she loves and her dream to visit Italy. Francesca finds herself in a desperate situation. The tattooed beast that is serving his debt to society, has to save the headstrong woman from a secret that could destroy her. In turn Francesca teaches Ryder if you love something enough, it is worth fighting for. Ryder knows he is not worthy of love but this incredible beauty makes him want it. Ryder can save Francesca from her secrets but can she save him from his? Is Ryder strong enough to endure the kids she loves and her crazy Italian family?
Ten months can fly by or it can last and eternity.

LYRICS, HEART, & SOUL is another amazing story by Anne Marie Citro. In this one, we meet Francesca, another one of the Sistas of the United Nations, a group of tight-knit friends known to get together for "Caesar Friday."
Francesca is everything you could want in a female lead from her self-deprecating behavior/comments to the hard work and commitment she gives to the students with special needs at Reach Within Centre to the absolutely loveable and devoted family. Ryder is her antithesis from his upbringing to his anger issues to his brash behavior and together, they're fantastic.
Likes: I loved how well Ms. Citro weaved all the children at the Centre into the story. Through them, we're able to see the icy wall Ryder keeps up melt away. And the music! Or more importantly, the lyrics. Anyone who has ever been affected by a song's lyrics will fall in love with this story.
This is a story about new beginnings. I originally wanted to say second chances, but in this case, the children at the centre, Francesca, Ryderůthey never really had a first chance. No, this is about finding love while they find themselves in the process and I loved it.
