DARING HER LOVE: A BRADENS NOVELLA by Melissa Foster
Rating: 3

Kat Martin is through with the wrong type of man. She's looking for Mr. Right, not Mr. Right Now, and she'll most definitely find him…after she has this one teensy weensie last hookup with the hot guy at the airport bar. Eric James was enthralled with Kat the second he saw her across the bar, and after a fast and furious fuck in an airport bathroom, he's thrilled to find out that she's not only on his flight, but headed the same place he is.

Mutual friends have invited them both to Colorado, where Kat plans to kickstart her career and Eric gets a much needed break from professional auto racing. As hard as Kat tries to resist the sexiness that is Eric James, she knows that she's a lost cause.

DARING HER LOVE is a novella in the Bradens series, and also a stand-alone addition to the innovative and fun 1001 Dark Nights series featuring sensual and erotic stories by a variety of popular authors inspired by the classic The Arabian Nights tale.

This is the first Bradens story I've read, and I wouldn't mind checking out more. Ms. Foster did one hell of a job making the chemistry between Kat and Eric explosive (the airport hookup?? Soooo erotic). But as the story wore on, it became pretty dry. It was perfectly romantic and sticky sweet, which was great, just very unexciting.

Bottom Line: No OM/OW or sharing; condom use; no BDSM/kink; no sexual assault; no violence/murder.

TEASED by Rebecca Zanetti
Rating: 4

Chalton Reese is a vampire on a mission. Olivia Roberts is just days away from exposing the results of genetic mutations when she's attacked by people…or beings…that will do anything to know her sources. Chalton has been tasked with finding out who her sources are, but once he meets the fiery human, he'll do what he needs to do to keep her safe.

TEASED is a novella in the Dark Protectors series, and also a stand-alone addition to the innovative and fun 1001 Dark Nights series featuring sensual and erotic stories by a variety of popular authors inspired by the classic The Arabian Nights tale.

I'm not usually one for vampire books, but I did like TEASED a lot. It was fast paced and fun. Olivia was such a great character. She was curious to the point of causing herself trouble, sweet when it came to her friends, funny as hell and was A-OK with hooking up with a sexy killer. Chalton was yummy in a Neanderthal sort of way, protective of a woman he barely knows who his body recognizes as his mate. I wouldn't mind reading more in this vampire series.

Bottom Line: No OM/OW or sharing; no condom use; no BDSM/kink; no sexual assault; violence/murder.

THE PROMISE OF SURRENDER by Liliana Hart
Rating: 4

Mia Russo is an enigma in Surrender, Montana. With a sleeve of ink, purple hair and no qualms carrying her gun, the former officer opened a pawn shop on the edge of town, keeps her head down and stays out of the fray. When her former love Zeke McBride strolls into her shop wanting to reconnect, Mia is suspicious of his motivations. Seven years and NOW he comes to her? Something smells in Surrender! Zeke laments every day that Mia wasn't by his side, and he's ready to hang up his undercover badge and make a life with her. Can he convince her to let him back in?

THE PROMISE OF SURRENDER is a novella in the MacKenzie Family series, and also a stand-alone addition to the innovative and fun 1001 Dark Nights series featuring sensual and erotic stories by a variety of popular authors inspired by the classic The Arabian Nights tale.

I actually really enjoyed this story. It had a bit of a dark…but not too dark…feel to it that appealed to me immensely. I love romantic suspense stories, and while this was short and sexy, Mia and Zeke's reconnection was perfect. Their chemistry was completely erotic and the furious, angry make-up sex, satisfying. The only bummer is that the ending was rushed and rather incomplete. Even so, this read definitely made me want to pick up more in the MacKenzie Family series.

Bottom Line: No OM/OW or sharing; no condom use; no BDSM/kink; no sexual assault; no violence/murder (but discussion of).

SAVAGED SURRENDER by Jennifer Lyon
Rating: 4

Former MMA fighter Ethan Hunt wants Ana Kendall with a ferocity that he's never felt, but the kind and sweet girl is far too good for the likes of him. Besides, he's leaving to work as protection for the band Savaged Illusions and Ana is firmly in the friend zone. After an ill-fated kiss leaves them both shaken, Ethan flees for his new life. When Ana reconnects with him nearly a year later, she knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go after it. Some hot, sweaty, dirty sex with a man she trusts. With obstacles in both of their ways, it'll take some creative maneuvering to figure out how to be together.

SAVAGED SURRENDER isn't its own book in the 1001 Dark Nights series, but it's considered the addition of a "Discovery Author." I'm a total sucker for a kitchen romance, and this story combines those aspects along with a little suspense, some rock star fun and the promise of some kinky role playing to be one seriously sexy read. I say "the promise of some kinky role playing" because, while the sex was über erotic, they never REALLY got to the forced seduction that Ethan craved. The constant threat/promise was there but there was always an interruption…then it ended. I'm not overly familiar with Ms. Lyon's work, but I'm very impressed by her ability to make the relationship between Ana and Ethan feel like it sat on a knife's edge. I'll most definitely pick up more by this author.

Bottom Line: No OM/OW or sharing; condom use; no BDSM, some role playing kink; no sexual assault; mild violence/murder.

JUMPSTART by Riley Hart
Rating: 4

When Supercross champion Beckett Monroe is outed, he's so relieved not to have to hide that part of himself anymore. Reconnecting with his old friend Christian Foster scares the hell out of him, especially since they didn't exactly part on great terms 10 years ago. But since Beck put himself out there, Christian decided to do the same…and both men know they'll never let time pass again without being together.

JUMPSTART isn't its own book in the 1001 Dark Nights series, but it's a sexy little novella in the Crossroads series and a nice addition to this bundle. I don't read straight up MM romance, I typically like an F included in the there somewhere, but Ms. Hart's story was really well written and made me want more on these characters AND their tribes. It took awhile for the sexy time to begin, but when it did, dayum it was delicious! There's nothing quite like some yummy guy on guy action to celebrate the new year! Cheers!

Bottom Line: MM sexcapades; no OM/OW or sharing; condom use; no BDSM/kink; no sexual assault; no violence/murder.
