- Book 2 of Burnham College
Kellan McVey is Burnham College's most prolific athlete, partier, and ladies' man—and that's just how he likes it. Returning to reign for his third year, he wants nothing to change. Then Andrea Walsh shows up.
It wasn't too long ago that Andi and Kellan were lifelong friends, mortal enemies, and, for one hot summer, more. Then Kellan left and Andi stayed behind.
Kellan thought he'd moved past that last summer's heartbreak, but with Andi sitting next to him in class, befriending his friends, and battling for the same once-in-a-lifetime job opportunity, he's starting to remember why he hated her…and why he loved her.
Kellan has a long list of reasons that falling for Andi again is a terrible idea, though every new moment together challenges that theory. But Andi's all too familiar with Kellan's love 'em and leave 'em approach—and she's found someone else to get serious about.
Burnham's campus king has never had to fight for a girl, but if he wants Andi to give him another chance, he'll have to do the one thing he's never had the nerve to do: admit it.

A hilarious cautionary tale of what happens when your fears control you.
Kellan has everything a young bachelor could want. Women, friends, admirers, and a carefree life with no-strings sex whenever he desires. Yet, after an incident leaves him startled back to reality, Kell realizes his life is practically empty and meaningless without the one person who has always been by his side.
His best friend and former lover, Andi, is the opposite of everything Kell thought he was attracted to. She's a tomboy, leaner in build, and would rather wear a sweatshirt and watch sports than party in heels. But Kell has found that her face is the only one he sees anymore and the random hook-ups don't compare to the summer he spent with Andi.
Kell's world is turned upside down when Andi walks onto his college campus and back into his life. Rekindling their flame could be easy since their chemistry is undeniable, but there's a problem. Kellan has spent so much time denying his feelings for Andi that when the time comes to 'put up or shut up' his old habits are hard to break. Andi's heart just might break, instead.
I was surprised to see that this entire book is told from the POV of Kell, our male lead. In romance novels, this isn't common, but it was a nice change of pace. There was still just as much internal dialogue and emotions throughout the story. And while we don't see Andi's story from her eyes, I think we still get a good idea of who she is and how she operates.
The romance is hot and there is a good dose of angst between our couple even from the first chapter. There's so much left unsaid on both sides as Kell and Andi have serious trouble communicating. I wanted to knock some sense into Kellan a few times. Yet, I did love our couple's playful banter. The author must have a good sense of humor because I laughed a lot while reading this book. The secondary characters were spectacular, as well.
I do hope there is more to come in this series. I'd love to see another one of the guys find their happy ending. Four stars!
