Sara Wang moved back to her hometown after a divorce. In the pool she had swum as a child she met the gorgeous lifeguard Mateo, and the two were instantly attracted to each other. But Sara was still haunted by the shadow of her last unhappy marriage and the thought of her possessive ex-husband made her paranoid. She wanted to heal and wasn't ready for another relationship, but Mateo was hard to resist…
For fifteen years Mateo could not forget Yingying, the girl who had taught him how to swim. A major sponsor of the Y, and an attractive bachelor, Mateo was called Prince of the Y by the women around him. No one had been able to stir his heart until the arrival of Sara, who bore a striking resemblance to Yingying, and who was circumspect about starting a new relationship…
After a series unavoidable sensual encounters, Sara was brought closer and closer to Mateo, but was still reluctant to consider the relationship seriously until Bill, Sara's ex-husband that had been haunting her in her imagination, suddenly materialized in her house…

JADE ORCHID LOVERS is a sweet romance that blends humor, mystery, and romance exceptionally well. Sara and Mateo are wonderfully developed characters and you feel like you are with them every step of the way. Sara's fear is palpable and not over the top. Mateo wasn't the "bad boy" I was expecting, thankfully. The natural blend of genres mixed with the blend of cultures made this an excellent story and I hope to read more from Mei Silk!
