DANGEROUS DESTINY is a unique paranormal romance where the vampires' destiny is to protect the witches from the Guild, a cult of witch hunters. I've not read a lot of paranormal romances that feature vampires and witches, thus this book, the first in a series, is a refreshing and intriguing addition to the genre.

Carolyn is a likeable heroine, and she's pretty kick ass when it counts. Her chemistry with Darius, her yummy vampire protector, is off the charts. Plenty of action mixed with the romance made this a riveting read, especially when the Guild kidnapped Carolyn, and Darius and his friends raced to save her.

I would've liked more romantic development between the main leads though. I'm fine with insta-love, if done right. However, Darius's situation is unique (ha, spoilers), hence I would've loved more scenes where I can see them connecting and bonding. Also, I hadn't expected Carolyn to capitulate so fast when Darius revealed who he is and what they are (again, sorry, coz spoilers). I mean, while some stories would've drawn this conflict out past the interesting stage, here, it was resolved too quickly that while it was an imaginative change, I do wish there had been a little bit conflict between the main leads to increase the tension.

Overall, a worthy read for a first in the series book. More adventures await Carolyn's and Darius's friends because of course, the Guild won't rest until they've silenced all the witches!
