Professional Reviews:
Regina, Coffee Time Romance: Star Brides: Procured by Ms. Manning is a well written alien abduction love story that I enjoyed reading very much. The world building is interesting and imaginative. The love scenes are highly sensual and erotic and I absolutely loved the "lidans" and no I will not tell you what that reference means, you will have to read the story to find out what they are! 4/5 Cups.

Reader's Reviews:
Amazon: Absolutely fantastic. Five Stars: This is the first I've read from this author and it's a hit. Definitely will by her other works. Great story line, plot, easy flow.

A woman gets a lot more than she bargained for...

Anis wants to research alien lifeforms. She's excited to have been chosen to participate in a program which will allow her to continue her studies. But when she thinks her dream is finally coming true, she is strangely denied access to the program. Oh, and she's just been sort of purchased by the commander of the spacecraft she's now stuck on. Yikes.

Dachar hasn't found a mate among the females of his race, like many other Apochian. That's why they are orbiting this planet, to find human women to mate with. And when a woman catches his eye, he knows he has to have her. It's just unfortunate that she's been told a lie as to why she's coming to his ship and has no idea she and the other females are really there.

Learning you are to be mated to an alien against your will is a lot for Anis to take in. And sure, she is attracted to the commander in ways that seem impossible, but it's a big leap from scientist to alien bride. Yet, just as Anis and Dachar begin to come to an understanding in their relationship, the entire ship is threatened by an enemy alien race. If the couple want to be together, they have to survive the attack. And Dachar's overbearing mother too.

The book starts with us jumping right into the middle of a scene. I was a little confused at first, but eventually I understood what was going on. I still don't get why the instructor behaved the way he did. That isn't really explained well. I liked both of our characters, even if I didn't necessarily like how they were brought together. And there were some interesting secondary characters as well. Even the villains were intriguing. There was quite a bit of material here to grow on.

The thing that I just didn't love about the book was the pacing. I thought it was a bit too much, too quickly. I mean we go from complete strangers to needing to get our heroine knocked-up in a flash. I think that there was already so much going on, with our couple trying to get to know one another and an enemy threat at their doorstep. That was a lot to pile onto the story and probably why I didn't enjoy it as much as I could have.

In closing...
An interesting start to a new series with alien love. 3.5 stars!
