BDSM, Erotic Romance, LGBTQ
Fenton had a bad experience in college. It left him with one hard limit he'll never budge on, the same hard limit that's tanked every relationship he's had, and resulted in his trust being repeatedly shattered. When he meets Joel courtesy of matchmaking friends, he senses something different in the Top and wonders if he's the real deal. Especially when Joel receives the Snoobug seal of approval from Fen's young niece.
Joel's first impression of the fricking adorable side is that he'll break if Joel so much as looks at him wrong, much less plays with him. Fen's limit isn't a problem for Joel, because the Sephora-loving, Broadway-musical-singing, essential-oil-diffusing subby slid right past all of Joel's emotional defenses like no other. And looks can be deceiving—Fen is much tougher than people assume.
After a family tragedy, when Joel's past returns to strike where he's most vulnerable, can Fen step up, swing hard, and save them with his cast-iron will?

A hard limit for receiving anal sex for a gay man is going to be pretty difficult to overcome.
Fenton is an adorable twink who is submissive and a nice guy. He is not complicated and pretty easily going. But he does have a hard limit which every lover and dominant thinks they can overcome and get Fenton into it. They don't respect his hard limit and ridicule him. I have to be honest, even after learning Fenton's traumatic past and understanding his dislike and fears, his hard limit is a hard sell. It is not like he has a vagina as an alternate. And it isn't like he is heterosexual where he can just be the pitcher instead of the catcher. The sad part is neither Fenton nor his ex-lovers are wrong in their opinion and desires. Not sure how Ms. Dalton is going with Fenton, the readers just need to hold on for the ride.
Joel is a dominant looking for a sub. He has issues of his own and when he is matched up with Fenton, it is as if the stars finally aligns. When he learns about Fenton's hard limit, he is respective and unbelievably creative and patient. The sex scenes in this story are hawt. Hawt because it really needs to be outside of the norm to get both Joel and Fenton off. I'm impressed with the creativity. Ms. Dalton describes it so well. She also stokes the fires in their sexual tension until it finally ignites and blazes. Love it. Of course this is a Ms. Dalton book so it can't just end happily ever after without some blast from the past drama. Seriously, there are too many people with past trauma. Drama aside, this kinky romance is recommended to mm readers who want to learn how to have sex without exactly doing the deed.
