The best way to get over someone is to get under someone else. And I have the perfect candidate all picked out.
My new assistant is tempting beyond belief with her curvy body and take-no-shit attitude. All those luscious curves, and a juicy ass I'm already in love with. God, the things that I would do to that assů
But it's the haunted look in her eyes that speaks to me. Like she's taken just as much shit in her past as I haveŚmaybe more. We both deserve a little fun.
Love can't fix everything. Mind-blowing sex, on the other hand?
I have a feeling that might do the trick.

3 secretive little stars for TORRID LITTLE AFFAIR.
Cooper Kingsley was heartbroken when the woman he loved picked his brother over him. After taking some time to drown himself in women and wine, Cooper returns to his family's escort service, Forbidden Desires. He's pleasantly surprised to see his new assistant Corinne O'Neil, and after a volatile start, he can't wait to make her his. Corinne has no idea what she'd do with a man like Cooper, especially since her past has her damaged beyond what he'd want in his life. But Cooper doesn't give up easily, especially when it comes to a woman he wants. Will he be able to convince Corinne that they've got a good thing going?
I went back and forth on the first two books of the Forbidden Desires series, adoring book one but feeling lukewarm about the second. I was so stoked to get Cooper's story in TORRID LITTLE AFFAIR, but this book left me feeling slightly confused and frustrated. The story didn't flow so well, to the point where I had to keep backing up and checking to see if I missed something while I read. Cooper and Corinne kept talking about how much awesome their sex was, but that was way before actual penetration took place. I literally did a kindle search for condom to find out if there was something my eyes skipped over. Additionally, I didn't get the impression in either of the first 2 books that Cooper was utterly in lurrrve with Emma, so for his character to be all torn up about her not returning his feelings rang utterly overblown. I didn't care for Corinne for Cooper, she was way too reserved and introverted for his fine self, but once the story got rolling and she came out of her shell a bit, I felt slightly better about their relationship. Overall, this book simply wasn't up to the usually impeccable standards that I come to expect from such a fabulous author.
Bottom Line: No OM/OW or sharing; condom use; no BDSM/kink; discussions of past sexual assault; no violence/murder.
