The first time we met was at a party.
Your ex arrived to show off the person he'd left you for last month, and you asked me to pretend to be your date.
I was more than happy to help. You were attractive, smart and witty--and that kiss we shared? It left me wanting you for days.
The second time we met was in my office on campus where we were both surprised to discover you were the new master's degree student in poetry that I would be working with. You promised to be professional. I did no such thing.
The late nights and intense study sessions spent alongside you majorly throw me off my game. I want you, and I fight with myself daily over this fact.
I know I'm crass, that my sexual innuendos and dirty mouth annoy you, but I live for those two bright spots of color in your cheeks. If that's the only reaction I can get out of you, I'll gladly take it.
You hate Mondays so every Monday I slip an anonymous poem into your bag and your smile gets me through the week.
I think I'm falling for you, and I know it's wrong. I know that I'm only supposed to be the adviser to your program and nothing more, but here's the thing. I think you're falling for me too.

5 poetic stars for XO, ZACH!
When a gorgeous woman asks you to act as her boyfriend in front of her ex, how can you say no? As the youngest ever Assistant Director in the college's academic advising office, Zach Austin is used to getting hit on by students, but he's never been tempted…until now. The sexy little poet Poppy Ellis stole his breath when they first met, and now that they realize he's her academic advisor, shit's about to get real! The college has very strict rules about student/staff relationships, not to mention the fact that Poppy has a son who is her whole life. Can the two of them figure out a path forward or are they doomed before they even get started?
As always, Kendall Ryan's wicked humor kept me cracking up all the way through XO, ZACH! Witness:
"That's fine with me. We'll be friends." I felt relief wash over me, before he added, "With, or without benefits. Up to you."
Just when I thought I was getting through to him. I put my hands on my hips. "No benefits."
"Hmm." The sound was so deep and sexy coming from him. "So, I suppose it's not helpful that I want to fuck you." He put on a mock serious face. "Platonically, of course."
Yaaas! Zach was totally adorable in XO, ZACH! He was such a sweetie, contrasted by a wickedly dirty mouth. Poppy was a multidimensional character, and I loved the contrast between the tough, single mom with a chip on her shoulder to sexy coed ready to get.it.on! This is, naturally, another kick-ass addition to the fabulous collection put out by Ms. Ryan that you must read!
Bottom Line: No OM/OW or sharing; mixed condom use; no BDSM/kink; no sexual assault; no violence/murder.
