SUMMARY
A 2017 Riptide Holiday Charity Novel

Last month, Alex Barrow's whole life imploded—partner, home, job, all gone in forty-eight hours. But sometimes when everything falls apart, better things appear almost like magic. Now, he's back in his Michigan hometown, finally opening the bakery he's always dreamed of. But the pleasure of opening day is nothing compared to the lonely and beautiful man who bewitches Alex before he even orders.

Corbin Wale is a weirdo. At least, that's what he's heard his whole life. He knows he's often in a fantasy world, but the things he feels are very real. And so is the reason why he can never, ever be with Alex Barrow. Even if Alex is everything he's always fantasized about. Even if maybe, just maybe, Corbin is Alex's fantasy too.

When Corbin begins working at the bakery, he and Alex can't deny their connection any longer. As the holiday season works its magic, Alex yearns for the man who seems out of reach. But to be with Alex, Corbin will have to challenge every truth he's ever known. If his holiday risk pays off, two men from different worlds will get the love they've always longed for.

THE REMAKING OF CORBIN WALE was such a beautiful and magical book. It has one of the most unique and precious characters I'd ever read about. It was very easy to love it.

Alex is back in his hometown to open the bakery he had dreamed of. When Corbin starts working with Alex, none of them is ready for the connection between them. But when the feelings became stronger, Corbin's way to see things makes it impossible for them to be together, even when Alex's yearning makes things a lot harder than it was supposed to be.

Corbin was a delightful character. I loved everything about him, his odd attitude, the way he sees the world, the way he showed his emotions, the way he communicates with his beloved friends. There are so many reasons why he was such a stunning character. Alex was also a nice character. He was charming, caring and really kind. He can be easily loved by any reader but he wasn't as remarkable as Corbin was. They'll be on my mind for a long time.

As a couple, they were amazing. It was so obvious they love each other. Corbin's struggle with his beliefs was so heartbreaking but Alex's presence and constant support made all the pain seem worthy. The moments they were together, those moments of happiness, were so beautiful. Every way they interact had so much meaning, every word, glance or gesture, it was amazing. They made me smile with such easiness.

The secondary characters were also very interesting, but the ones that got my attention the most were the ones that had a meaning for Corbin, their relationship was very intriguing. The plot was great. It seems a little simple, but it's Corbin and his way of seeing things that made it so interesting and unique. The only problem I had with the book was the ending. It was satisfying enough and I did like it, but it felt like something was missing. Like some of the magic I learned to love wasn't as present there as it was all through the book.

Overall it was a fantastic book full of joy and hope. It had some angst in it, but not something too unbearable and the lighter moments made it all worth it. It was beautiful.
