From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Laura Kaye comes a new story in her Raven Riders series…
Caine McKannon is all about rules. As the Raven Riders Sergeant-at-Arms, he prizes loyalty to his brothers and protection of his club. As a man, he takes pleasure wherever he can get it but allows no one close—because distance is the only way to ensure people can't hurt you. And he's had enough pain for a lifetime.
But then he rescues a beautiful woman from an attack.
Kids and school are kindergarten teacher Emma Kerry's whole life, so she's stunned to realize she has an enemy—and even more surprised to find a protector in the intimidating man who saved her. Tall, dark, and tattooed, Caine is unlike any man Emma's ever known, and she's as uncertain of him as she is attracted. But breaking the rules comes at a price, forcing Caine to fight dirty to earn a chance at love.

5 dirty and delicious stars for RIDE DIRTY!
Raven Riders' Sargent-at-Arms Caine McKannon knows he's not the kind of man who's waiting for a good future. His past is full of hell and misery, and truly, he doesn't deserve any sort of happiness. When he rescues kindergarten teacher Emma Kerry from a mugger, he finds himself stunned and taken aback by how connected he is to her. Emma is so saddened by Caine's low self-esteem, but also incredibly attracted to the rough, stoic man who's been watching out for her. He's infiltrated her life to keep her safe from someone who wants to harm her, and she's finding it impossible not to fall for him. Hard. But Caine knows it's impossible to keep Emma, she'll never want a man as damaged and dirty as him. But maybe they can just stay in their little bubble for a little while longer…
RIDE DIRTY is a novella in the Raven Riders series, and also a stand-alone addition to the innovative and fun 1001 Dark Nights series featuring sensual and erotic stories by a variety of popular authors inspired by the classic The Arabian Nights tale.
My heart absolutely broke for Caine!! He was so miserable, always waiting for the next shoe to drop, for his friends to hate him, for life to crush him like the bug he saw himself as. He had a horrific childhood, and I loved that, as a kindergarten teacher, Emma recognized the signs of severe childhood abuse even though he was no longer a kid. She was patient and kind, with just enough authority to kind of force him to listen to her. They were perfectly matched, and I was really rooting for Emma to save him as much as he was saving her. Although the book was short, it had a surprising amount of depth that I appreciated. I definitely recommend picking this one up!
Bottom Line: No OM/OW or sharing (though a threesome was discussed in the beginning); condom use; no BDSM/kink; no sexual assault; violence, murder.
