Tucked away at the base of the Rocky Mountains lived a little boy with one singular dream: leave this broken and battered home and become someone.

Be somebody's hero.

That boy was me—Colby Brooks. Except I'm not that same little boy anymore.

My dreams might still be the same, but my reality isn't.

I'm smarter. Stronger. A man.

And I learned a long damn time ago, the only way to achieve my dreams was to avoid distractions—at any cost.

Focus. Resolve. Determination.

But all it took was one single night. One night and my entire life…changed.

One night had me colliding head first with the biggest distraction of my life; Rory Oaks.

Smart. Charming. Beautiful.

Rory changed everything.

Quickly, my one-track mind started to bend.

Each kiss faded decade-long dreams.

And with one single incident, I fly off course.

4 falling stars for THE UPSIDE OF FALLING!

His whole life, Colby Brooks has been focused on being a fighter pilot, and he's so close to achieving that goal. He has no time to focus on anything else…including women. But then he meets Rory. Rory Oaks isn't like any woman he's ever met, and she's a clear and present danger to his self control. As hard as he tries to push her away, Rory fights back, determined to get to know the surly, sexy man. Rory quickly breaks down Colby's long-built walls, and he has no clue what he ever did without her. But a woman doesn't change the fact that he's likely not going to be around once he heads to flight school, and Rory isn't going to leave Colorado Springs. Is there any way the two can make a long term relationship work?

Oooh, Ms. Quinn, you're a goddess! I'm not a giant fan of NA reads, but THE UPSIDE OF FALLING was excellent! I adored Rory and Colby's story…I loved that she was the one perusing him, which there's woefully little of in romance novels these days. And how about his grandpa? A-dor-able. My heart broke for how Colby grew up, it's a story that can't help but make you insane with anger. But he took that pain and turned it into motivation. Together, Colby and Rory made a great couple, and their story made a great book. And that cliffhanger? Daaaaaaamn! I can't wait for the second book in The Blue Line Duet, The Downside of Love.

Bottom Line: No OM/OW or sharing; condom use; no BDSM/kink; no sexual assault; no violence/murder.
