DEMETRIUS—He's the hulking, brooding warrior his fellow Guardians avoid. Too dark. Too damaged. And given his heritage, he knows it's best to keep everyone at arm's length.
Isadora is missing. The words pounded through his head like a frantic drumbeat. For her own protection, Demetrius had done all he could to avoid the fragile princess, his soul mate. And now she was gone—kidnapped. To get her back, he'll have to go to the black place in his soul he's always shunned. As daemons ravage the human realm and his loyalty to the Guardians is put to the ultimate test, Demetrius realizes that Isadora is stronger than anyone thought. And finally letting her into his heart may be the only way to save them both.

Elisabeth Naughton weaved a fantastic world in TEMPTED-- one filled with Greek mythology, witches, demons, and the guardians who are trying to protect the immortal world from it all. Top it all off with a sexy, tortured hero, and I was truly in love!
Demetrius is a guardian, but he's different from the rest. He's mean and brooding, and he especially needs to stay away from Isadora, the princess of his world and his soul mate. He knows what darkness is inside him, so it's best that he keep anyone from getting too close.
When Isadora is kidnapped, Demetrius fights who he is and what he knows he shouldn't want to get her back. When they end up being put to the ultimate test, Demetrius finds that getting close to Isadora might be the exact thing needed to save both of their lives.
TEMPTED was simply fantastic. Deeply rooted in Greek mythology, the world-building was superb. Going between immortal, human, and underworld realms, I was instantly transported across all those dimensions and was entrenched into the fantasy world expertly created by the author.
Demetrius was definitely my favorite character. He spent his whole life trying to hide who he was and not letting anyone get close. That made others assume he was something that he was not. Underneath all the bluster though was a man who loved and protected and was honorable. That type of wounded hero is just so hot.
Isadora also had so much more to her than the spoiled Princess that she was made out to be. Her strength and stubbornness were the perfect match for Demetrius.
TEMPTED is the third book in the Eternal Guardians series, and I felt a bit lost in the beginning of the book. And while the author did a great job of filling in the gaps, I did fell like I was missing some essential back story. I would say that would be my only fault with the book, and I don't think it takes away from how extremely well written it is.
Overall, I thought that this was an excellent book with fantastic world-building and strong characters. I am just starting the Eternal Guardians series with this book, and I have to admit, it made me want to go right out and get books one and two!
