THE MASTER is a novella about a young, beautiful event organiser, Madison, who scoops a last-minute prime venue for an event, which will keep her company well and truly on the event-organising map. Unbeknownst to her, the venue is owned by her former lover (The Master Anderson) who planned to lure her back into his life. He hopes a photo of her taken semi-naked will remind her of the passion they shared, along with their incredible bondage (domination/submission) sex, forgetting, however, that she left him because of her distaste of ménage.

Unfortunately, he hadn't foreseen that her current interest, Mike, would stumble on the almost life-sized photo – Mike also happens to be Anderson's former friend with whom he shared whores and ménage sessions. Unaware that Anderson and Mike are acquainted, and on the verge of notching up her relationship with Mike, will Madison believe Anderson's promises that his former life is over and that she is ‘the one' with whom he wants to share the rest of his life?

Although the cast of characters is short, its members are diverse and entertaining. They were deftly drawn by the author – this is a novella, her character portrayal had to be economic, but it was easy to imagine the comedic gay assistant, the quintessential English butler, and the immoral womaniser. The whole course of events of the story takes place over a short period of about 4 hours, but the comparatively long history of the main characters' past relationship is neatly interwoven, bringing you satisfyingly up to date. Both the main characters are strong - she is stunning and independent, and he is handsome, wealthy and dominant.

The author has an easy-going style and the sizzling, erotic scenes were oozing passion and sensuality.

I would have liked to see less urban words in some scenes which didn't warrant the disrespect they implied and a final edit would have eliminated the last of the overlooked punctuation, grammar, word omission revisions.

A fairly enjoyable quick read – but be warned - includes bondage scenes.
