SUMMARY
He's a killer…
Through the ages, deadly Guardian Tır watches over the mortal realm with a sword that is as blood-drenched as his soul in his quest for vengeance—his sarcasm a shield for the deepening hell inside him. Until one glimpse of a breathtaking, carefree female stops him dead in his tracks…but she's the one person he can never have. Still, she has to be the most exasperating female on the planet, with a tendency to land herself in sticky situations.

She's happiness incarnate…
Bumping shoulders with intractable immortals is not Kira Smith's idea of fun. An unfortunate encounter with a certain annoying, über hot warrior undoes all her hard work, and the homeless boy she rescued escapes back into the demon-infested alleys. Kira's determined to find the child—even if it means tolerating the arrogant, know-it-all as a bodyguard.

For her, he'll break every rule…
Thrown together in this treacherous hunt, long suppressed emotions unravel. Tır will do anything to claim the woman who stirs his deepest desire and Kira longs to succumb to the happiness she finds in him. But Fate isn't always kind, revealing a dark destiny that could very well tear them apart…

He shares the responsibility of protecting others from the supernatural dangers that surround them. It is a punishment he feels he earned for failing to keep others from their deaths. His beauty attracts women everywhere but he feels nothing for those woman. He hides his pain with jokes and games but is broken inside. Being with her gives him a chance to feel again and an opportunity for a happiness he never expected. Both of them are protectors and together they can survive the danger they face.

Guardian Tır is a man that believe he has earned his punishment. His mistake lead to many deaths. While he smiles and plays games with the other Guardians, he feels dead inside. His good looks lead to pain and he has no desire to have that attention. While his fellow Guardians find love, he never expects it for him. He has tried to ignore his desire for Kira since their first introduction. When her life is at risk, it pushes him to acknowledge those strong desires and take a chance on love.

Kira is a protector like Tır but it is not an official role. She has a fiery personality and the determination to take on any challenge. There is young child she wants to keep safe from both humans and others. Her desire to save this child leads her into danger and into the arms of Tır. It is something she often desired but never expected.

The book is part of the Fallen Guardians series which features a variety of supernaturals including angels, gods and goddesses, witches, shifters and demons. They live alongside the humans who are unaware of their existence. It is the responsibility of the Guardians to protect others from the evil that exists in the world. The Guardians are in this role as punishment for their past mistakes and embrace their mission to protect innocents. I would recommend you read the books in order to get the most enjoyment but the author does suggest you could read it as a standalone.

This sixth book in the series offers another Guardian finding his mate under unlikely circumstances. Tır, like those who came before him, is not expecting to find love. Unlike the other books, he finds love with someone he already knew. Kira has been part of the series since the beginning and was introduced as a friend of Echo. These two characters have stood out in the series and I was eager to learn more about them. You learn that Tır has hidden a great deal from the others and his feelings for Kira gradually dismantle the facade he has hidden behind for centuries.

The Fallen Guardians series offers characters wanting to right the wrongs of their past by protecting others from evil. I highly recommend reading the whole series in order as they do build upon each other but you can read them as standalones. These Guardians to the Earth have lived for centuries with pain. Tır is paying for a mistake that has haunted him and lead to punishment that would have destroyed most. Kira is the perfect woman for him and shares his desire to protect others. She sees beneath the facade he presents to others and challenges him to take a chance on love. Their story offers great characters, an exciting storyline and the chemistry between the characters heats the pages.
