SUMMARY
An unfortunate fluke of timing puts Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Harte in the wrong place at the wrong time, and it costs him his career. Caught in an Iraqi ambush while on a rescue operation, he's hit by shrapnel that damages the visual cortex of his brain. With family wealth, nothing is beyond his grasp, including the women he pays to share his nights. That suits him just fine, until he hires Annie Claire Townsend to accompany him on a mission to help the two damaged soldiers he saved in the same attack that took his sight.

Taking a job as an escort is nothing Annie ever considered until medical bills from her daughter's illness buried her in debt. How could she refuse the ten thousand dollar fee? She has no idea her client is blind until she meets him, and his focus is off. Way off. Nothing about Daniel Harte elicits pity. He's roguishly handsome, assertive, and the sexiest man she's ever met. She can no more resist him than she could stop breathing. But Annie has secrets she can't confide to anyone, especially the man she's falling in love with.

What a fun, sexy book that takes us on a ride to the darker side of people's lives and back, surviving and living!

Colonel Harte retired from the military after a head injury during the war in Iraq left him blind and one of only three survivors that day. Born into family wealth, money is no concern as he sets out on a mission to save the other two damaged soldiers who survived with him. He sets a plan into place to show them how well he has adjusted and hires Annie Claire Townsend to accompany him as his "girlfriend" and to show the other men how well he has adjusted.

Annie Claire Townsend, single mom, finds herself taking a job as an escort because of the debt of the mounting medical bills from her daughter's illness. She is floored when she meets her client Daniel as she wasn't told he was blind but also because he's handsome, confident, in control and the sexiest man she has ever seen.

I truly enjoyed Ms. Maryn Sinclair's book! The story line was good, solid writing with sex and I love, as a reader, thinking about what will happen next, and she had me doing just that. The sex was steaming hot without being over the top, I definitely had to turn on a fan well reading. The characters were believable and though the language was rough, it was realistic. I found myself connecting to the characters in the book, each at a different levels; most I wanted to know more – Nico & Eleanor! - others not so much. It was worth the read and I'll be looking at other books by this author!
