I know you all are probably tired of hearing me tell you how good Sophie Oak's books are, right? Well TOO BAD, you're going to hear it again! (LOL) LOST IN BLISS, the fourth installment in the Nights in Bliss, Colorado Series, is an amazing book with the deep emotion, fantastic plot, snarky humor, and sizzling love scenes we've come to associate with Sophie Oak--all wrapped up in the best fictional town I've ever read about.
This story is about Laura Niles. She's the city girl that came to Bliss about 5 years ago, and has been a bit of a mystery. We knew she had some kind of tragic past, but I don't think I was expecting the depth of it.
Laura was working for the FBI as a profiler five years ago when her life was turned upside down. She ran from DC and came to Bliss. She found a home in the Colorado town, but she's never gotten over the two men she had fallen in love with during her former life.
Rafe and Cam feel like they let Laura down. They didn't feel right about sharing her, and because of a tragedy, she ran from them. But they never stopped looking for her. Neither did the crazed serial killer who nearly ended her life. Rafe and Cam have found Laura in Bliss, Colorado, and they are determined to get her back...but so is the serial killer.
Wow, this book was simply amazing. I've been wondering about Laura for a while. I had no idea she was in love with two men and even BEFORE she got to Bliss. The strength and sheer determination she showed in this book really had me seeing her on a different level.
Rafe and Cam--YUM. They are two sides of a coin, both very hot and incredibly sweet in their own way. They were a perfect complement to Laura. And of course, it wouldn't be a Sophie Oak book without the totally steamy and highly erotic love scenes. I just love that woman's dirty mind! Cam was quite adept at the dirty talk, too.
The plot was amazing. I couldn't exactly figure out how things were going to go down with the Marquis de Sade killer, and Ms Oak had me going right until the very end. I love when I can't quite figure the mystery out. Solving a mystery while Mel and his girlfriend are hunkered down in a bomb shelter waiting for an alien invasion, planning Stef and Jen's wedding, and Rachel popping her boobs out all over the place to feed her newborn daughter can't be easy. But then, it wouldn't be Bliss, now would it?
All in all, LOST IN BLISS was a fantastic read. I laughed, I cried, I snorted in a very unladylike manner and had to fan myself more than a few times. So, what more could I ask for? A huge, ginormous five stars from me. I love this series, and I can't wait for more books. Ms. Oak totally teased us at the end of this book, so I am dying to know what's going to happen next.
Note: If you STILL haven't checked out any of these books yet, I have no earthly idea what you are waiting for. You are really missing out, and you're gonna kick yourself for waiting so long. Trust me! Get them! You will NOT be disappointed.
