The tagline on the book said "It doesn't get any hotter than this", and I don't think truer words have ever been stated. RAW DESIRE was so extremely hot, so unbelievably erotic, I thought the book was going to go up in flames! Kate Pearce's contemporary romance debut is going to make huge waves!
Ally didn't think she'd ever come back to her hometown after leaving without a word amid a huge scandal many years ago. However, here she is back in the small town that she had escaped from, and facing her demons: namely Rob and Jackson.
Rob is still upset about Ally running out on him all those years ago, but that doesn't stop him from wanting her something fierce. He's a changed man, and he knows that he will stop at nothing to have Ally--even if that means sharing her with his best friend, Jackson.
As Rob, Ally and Jackson discover the insane chemistry between them, there are people who are none too happy that Ally is back in town. The trio must solve the mystery of who is out to get Ally before it's too late.
Holy smoldering hotness! This book was fantastic! I have to say that the description on the back of the book did not prepare me for what I had begun to read. This was a ménage book, and ended up being a bisexual ménage with some BDSM thrown in the mix as well. Talk about surprised--and pleasantly so! The sexuality was hard, rough, and so raw that RAW DESIRE was the absolute perfect title for this novel.
Ok, besides the sex (did I mention this book was HOT?), there was a lot of emotion in the book as well. Their shared past was tragic and there was a lot of baggage left from what happened. It was important to the development of their relationship to see what happened from everyone's point of view. It made a lot more sense that way. The author just tortured me with letting everything develop slowly giving us little tidbits of information before we got the complete picture. LOL
While the characters weren't my favorite ever, I think their flaws made the three of them perfect for each other. They complemented and challenged each other in a way that made them grow and discover the perfection of their ménage. The plot also had a bit of suspense and mystery to it to keep everything interesting.
RAW DESIRE was suspenseful, had tons of emotion, and was all kinds of erotic. I read it in one sitting because I simply refused to put it down. It was just that good. I am very familiar with Kate Pearce's Simply series, and I was quite impressed with this contemporary romance debut. If you like the Simply series, I think that you would be equally impressed with this spicy novel. Just make sure you've got the A/C on...you're gonna need it!
