Erotic Romance, Historical Romance

It's 1989 and Ryker Conall, American rock star and heartbreaker, is looking all kinds of Bon Jovi hot. He's back in Australia and staying in the exclusive Darling Harbour Hotel where Sadie Fox works. His plans include more than rocking it down under. He also wants to rekindle what he had with Sadie back in '85. But wanting and getting are two different things.

Sadie's objective is to get through the week without getting under Ryker. Getting over him was hard the first time around. She's not sure she could do it a second. Just one week, that's all. Then she's home free.

When a hurricane moves in, they have to wait it out. It might be a big hotel, but Sadie can't hide from Ryker forever. It's not long before Sadie is backed into a corner. A corner she is not sure she wants to get out of.

Hair bands, ghetto blasters, and shoulder pads...Ah, this story really took me back in time! Long live the '80's!

This was a solid and very cute romance. It had all the aspects of an enjoyable read--whirlwind romance, a sexy rocker, and a sassy heroine!

Sadie is the star of this little musical number and she's also the star that lights up our hero's heart! Ryker Conall is the ultimate rocker. He looks like Bon Jovi, he croons like Bryan Adams, and he's head-over-heels for Sadie! If only he knew that she felt the same...

Sadie believes she's nothing more than a groupie in Ryker's eyes and therefore, she wants nothing to do with him. He left her a few years back and she hasn't gotten over it. Nor has she gotten over him. All she needs to do is wait for Ryker and his band, Sirenic, to leave their tour of Australia and then she won't have to worry about him anymore. But Destiny is a cruel mistress and she always knows who belong together! It literally takes a hurricane to force these two lovebirds to speak to one another!

I really enjoyed the throwbacks to the '80's and I especially giggled at the '80's lingo that was used! All in all, this read was very fun! It was a different time and although I was only 6 when this novel takes place in 1989, I knew exactly what each reference meant! The writing was sweet and perfect just like the romance told in this cute and adorable fantasy.

Although this was a fun read, the plot itself seemed very far-fetched and that's coming from a woman who adores paranormal romances! I had to truly suspend disbelief in order to believe this might actually happen in reality. I love a good dose of realism because it gives me hope, but this was just pure fantasy and I couldn't see it actually happening.
