Erotic Romance

Determined to forget the horrors of Waterloo, Stephen Fessingdon spends a particularly debauched night on the town with his former brothers in arms before stumbling into his aunt's parlor and mistaking a respectable young woman for a notorious courtesan. The mistake is quickly cleared up, and just as quickly, he falls in love with the beautiful and sensual Catherine.

After six years of wedded bliss, the only impediment to Stephen and Catherine's happiness is their childlessness. To rectify the situation, the sexually adventurous couple arranges a house party. Catherine, masquerading as the well-known whore she resembles, will couple with five of Stephen's closest friends—all men he trusts and admires—thereby procuring a child without the danger of Stephen's jealousy or resentment fixing on any one man.

But when an unexpected guest—Catherine's long-lost fiancé—turns up at the party, Catherine and Stephen's love is tested. And that is not the only surprise guest of the evening…

First book by this author. But I will tell you it won't be my last. RAISING THE DEVIL is an Ellora's Cave quickie and I found myself loving every minute of it and wanting more. I didn't want this book to end and I will have to say I was quite sad when it did. My god, this was a spicy, hot and erotic regency. Have I mentioned that I loved it? Oh my yes I did. I loved it a lot!

This book was full of surprises and had a lovely twist at the end. It was only 50 pages, but it most definitely kept me riveted.

Stephen and Catherine are the perfect couple, perfect for each other as their love and desires match each other's. Just the way that they meet each other sets the tone of this book. It has bondage, ménage with lusty appetites but at the same time you can feel the bond and the love between the husband and the wife. They want a child and feel that this is their only option at the moment. Both characters are very likable and believable.

Beautiful Catherine wants a child. She really wants Stephen's child. Thinking that it is her fault they have not conceived, she is willing and lusting to do anything, which includes having sex with Stephen's closest friends. Stephen is willing to indulge her every whim, in fact the sex with his friends was his idea. Wow. Just sweet, sexy and powerful...with no jealousy? Fantastic! Filled with sex toys galore, this book had me riveted from beginning to end. Hot. Sexy. Fun.

I think the fact that they want a child helps to bring forth all the dark sexual desires they both share. What I found wonderful is that even through all the things that they do, they are still able to keep the love they feel for one another. I liked the bond they had with each other. Nothing more romantic than to want the best for your wife and to give her everything she needs and Stephen definitely provides that for Catherine. Even if it's in an unconventional way.

Five stars. A must read!
