Despite the title and the fluffy blurb, CAUGHT ON CAMERA WITH THE CEO is a fun and delightful story from Natalie Anderson, one that I couldn't put down!
As the title suggests, Dani Russo was caught kissing the boss on camera, a video clip that went viral. She lost her job because of it, and because Alex Carlisle felt responsible, he wouldn't rest until he found her another job. But that wasn't all he felt! Oh no, he was seriously in lust with Dani, and he couldn't understand why...
I love the understated humor in this book, especially when it pops up during Alex's thought-monologue. It made him sexier, you know what I mean? Not that he wasn't already a hunk to start with, but that sense of humor just amped up his sexiness that little bit more and endeared him to me.
The humor also made for some laugh-out-loud moments, like when a colleague insinuated that Alex wasn't going to be a bachelor any longer, Dani merely looked at the person with concern and said, "Can I get you a cup of tea or some cold water?" and thought, Pregnancy was making the poor woman delusional.
Dani and Alex were fantastic. Their chemistry rolled off the pages. The heat between the two was scorching and the tension was sky-high! I especially love the "dare" scene that happened at the function. That moment was hot, with a capital H! That sets the heat for their succeeding intimate scenes.
The story flowed and the storytelling was superb. The only reason this was a 4 star read was because although the book started out strong, it kind of puttered out toward the end, especially with regard to Dani's reaction when she learned the results of the investigation that Alex had conducted for her. I couldn't understand her reaction; I thought it was over the top. The author did explain, through Alex, why Dani was reacting as she did, but I couldn't feel it and I wasn't convinced.
Regardless, the last reunion scene contained all the romance I need, making this book a great read that I enjoyed immensely. I'm now going to check out Natalie Anderson's backlist while waiting for her future books!
