An ill child. A desperate mother. A man with money.

She has nothing left to sell, except her body. He finds his perfect sugar baby.

It's a business arrangement—in exchange for her companionship, he will pay her a monthly stipend. It's only about sex—they will never share details of their personal lives.

Cathy's life is one long panic attack. Losing herself to mindless passion in Michael's arms becomes her opiate. She's swiftly addicted to him and what he can make her forget.

Michael is satisfied with the sexual arrangement—until he becomes curious about the woman who shares his bed and he breaks his own no-details privacy rule.

Cathy can't think about her changing feelings when her daughter's health is so precarious. Michael's own scarred past presents a secret that threatens to destroy their evolving relationship.

The torrid affair turns into something much more.

Is money worth a broken heart? Is a business agreement and a hidden secret worth you losing the best thing that came into your life?

Cathy has spent her last two years caring for her sick child and is now looking for a part time job because the medical bills keep piling up and there is nothing else to sell that is of value. When she answers an ad in the personal section, the money is so enticing that she agrees to the negotiated terms. I was just amazed with her determination of the situation and what that would mean if anyone found out what she was doing. I'm not sure if I could do it but then again what if I'm faced with the same situation as her? What would you do?

Then meeting Michael, there was something about him that just didn't make sense. How could a brilliant, rich man be alone and have to hire someone for companionship? When he first met Cathy, known as Winter to him, he was drawn to her. He wondered why she would be doing something like this; it just didn't seem her nature. Then later on in the story you will see why. I just wanted to strangle him to death for the pain he caused Cathy. Yes, he is sweet and it's hard not to fall in love with his character because he cherished Cathy. He made her feel beautiful and wanted to buy her all the finest things but there were times that he acted like an ass and did make her feel like a whore.

But as time passed, the sexual encounters became more frequent. Both Michael and Cathy desired each other. Michael wanted to know more about Cathy but due to the business arrangement, he was not allowed that privilege but of course that did not stop him. He started missing her and couldn't wait to see her again. Then you have Cathy who was becoming emotionally attached to Michael or, better said, used him to release her emotional distress.

I fell in love with HIS SUGAR BABY. There was something about this story that literally kept me captivated. At the beginning I wondered what was wrong with Cathy's daughter but after I read what illness she had, I just wanted to forget. I have to admit that when Cathy's daughter was on the verge of death, my tears just flowed and they were hard to stop, especially when the truth finally came out. The reader can feel her desperation for her child's well being and Michael's betrayal.

The heat between the two characters was flaming hot. Michael was intrigued that Cathy was so responsive and that she had a little kink in her sexual desires. Cathy had no idea that she would react so wildly with public sexual gestures. I found my self completely enveloped in their heated love scenes. I was completely drawn to the romance between the two characters and hoped that Michael would deal with his secret before it was too late and he would lose Cathy and possibly a family forever.

The dialogue of the characters was well written. I loved how their relationship seemed to evolve into something else. They were both not looking into falling in love but when it's meant to be it's meant to be. I found myself reading this book non-stop from start to finish without even realizing that I had to go to work three hours later, but it was worth every minute.

At the end of this story, I found myself wanting more. I wanted to see their relationship evolve to the next level. I recommend it to anyone looking for something different in a romance story but erotic at the same time. I haven't read any other books by this author before this one but I will definitely be checking out more.
