LGBTQ, Vamps & Shifters Romance

Sheriff Scott Dupree's got more problems than he can handle. He's alpha of his small werewolf pack and coming up for re-election as sheriff in a year. On top of this, his mother is casting love spells to find Scott a mate. It's all Scott can do to keep the town and pack under control, let alone his urges to mate.

Ted Canedo is openly gay, a disgraced ex-cop from New Orleans. His patrol partner was killed on duty and Ted took the blame for taking protection money from the store owner to save his partner's wife and kids grief. No one knew Ted was in love with his partner, not even his partner. Having him die in Ted's arms killed something inside Ted too.

When the moon is full and Scott's momma works her magic, Ted's erotic dreams and his work as a PI bring him to St. Jerome and sexy, straight Scott. Scott's stunned to learn his wolf is gay and wants to mate with Ted. Ted refuses to become involved with a straight man, much less a werewolf, terrified to risk his heart again.

Especially if it he has to watch Scott fight to the death for his right to claim Ted as his mate.

What's hotter than a sexy alpha werewolf? A sexy CAJUN alpha werewolf!

Scott's mother wants grandbabies, and she is willing to do what it takes to get them even if doing her spells, er prayers isn't exactly condoned by the church or her son. Scott is 35 years old, he is the sheriff of their parish and alpha of their pack. He should be mated by now and Mrs. Dupree is going to make it happen.

Mrs. Dupree has to be my favorite character that I have read about in quite a while. She is hilarious. You have to love a mom who just wants what's best for her child even if it does involve some voo-doo and a dead cat.

Ted is a disgraced ex-cop turned PI and he is in St. Jerome on a job. He is here to find out if the judge's wife is cheating on him. To do that, he is taking a painting course and staying at the same Bed and Breakfast. Just when he thinks he is going to put the moves on the sexy art instructor, he makes eye contact with the hottest man he has seen and has an immediate visceral reaction. Now if he could just figure out why that man took one look at him and bolted out the door.

Ted's a nice guy that has finished last too many times. He is self-sacrificing and it's time something good happens for him. Anyone can relate to his hesitation to getting involved with yet another straight man.

To borrow Scott's favorite phrase "HO-LY SHIT". All Scott did was stop to pick up dinner on his way home and now he is so hard for the man he just made eye contact with he can hardly walk. But he is as straight as they come, so why is he reacting this way to a man? When he realizes his mother may have something to do with it, he wants her to break the love spell….right?

I liked Scott's character from the beginning. He is strong and loyal to his pack. His confusion over the whole "I'm not gay but my mate is" and how it happened added more drama to the story line. We don't have that insta-flip that happens in a lot of straight to gay stories.

There is a strong cast of secondary characters that I can't wait to read more about. I think there is more to the ex-alpha Bobby that we don't know yet. Ms. Lorenz is very good at drawing you into her stories with her descriptive writing and she really brings the characters to life. There are several editing errors which was frustrating but I am ready for my next trip to the bayou to spend some time at the Rougaroux Social Club. So if you like your locations, your men, and your sex hot, then BAYOU DREAMS is your dream come true.
