Can a bad boy angel and a dispirited mortal find a Christmas miracle together?
Luke, newly promoted to Watcher Angel, has been watching one human too closely—Alice. Unfortunately, she's now his latest assignment. Good thing the ground rules forbid getting involved with a human.
Alice Garner scores a great contract to illustrate a children's book by a famous author, but lack of inspiration forces her to cancel her holiday plans. Alone on Christmas to meet her looming deadline, Alice wishes on her treetop angel for help. She wasn't expecting an angel to answer, especially one as surly as Luke.
As they try to restore Christmas cheer to another, Luke brings Alice more than inspiration. He reawakens her heart. Now Alice has to convince him he's her greatest wish. With a little Christmas magic, can she convince him to break the ground rules and stay?

A perfect love story with a little hint of Christmas...

Alice is having the worst time of her life. She's a children's book illustrator with a deadline, who is finding little inspiration in her current state of mind. Plus, it's Christmas, and she's feeling a little melancholy, as she won't be able to spend the holidays with her family. Throwing caution to the wind, she wishes upon the star atop her Christmas tree for a little divine intervention.

Luke is an angel with an attitude and a Harley. Newly promoted to being a Watcher, he's in no mood to take on a new charge, especially on Christmas. This time of year only reminds him of what he'd lost. He had his heart broken on Christmas Eve when the love of his life decided that her life was better off without him.

Once Luke lays his eyes on Alice, however, he realizes she's something special. However, once bitten, twice shy, Luke is determined to keep things strictly business. Plus, Luke has been warned by the powers that be to make sure he adheres to the ground rules. No dalliances with your human charge.

Alice isn't sure what to make of Luke at first, but soon she's feeling a little warm and fuzzy towards the distant angel. Her time with Luke not only inspires her to meet her deadline, but fills her heart with a feeling she has long since lost. As time ticks away, will Luke ride his Harley into the Heavens, or chuck the ground rules out the window and stay earthbound with Alice?

This was such a short, sweet, light-hearted story about finding love, even if you're not looking. Alice and Luke were both strong-willed and not easily intimidated. They had both been heartbroken and not looking to be hurt again. Ms. Masters took a simple love story and made it magical, drawing the reader into the world where angels can make your dreams come true. And the fact that Luke could make a mean margarita certainly didn't hurt, either. I'm a sucker for a Christmas story – throw in a hot angel on a Harley and we've got a party!
