For three years Rebecca McKenney has been grieving the loss of her daughter. Now, a vision showing Sabrina three years older, suggests her baby is still alive, and the FBI agent who gave up the search is the only one who can help find her. Rebecca once witnessed a psychic connection between Agent Cooper and her daughter. She only hopes their fragile bond remains-and that the coward has the decency to pursue it.

Special Agent Dan Cooper, haunted by a tragic mistake made early in the investigation, agrees to help Rebecca to ease his conscience, if nothing else. Together they fight inner demons, all too real bad guys, and an attraction neither wants to admit to. Each step closer to finding her daughter unearths wide-spread deception and an evil so vile it threatens to break Rebecca's spirit. The thought of having her daughter back in her arms is all that keeps her going. Until she learns the horrifying truth – her daughter is scheduled to die in mere days.

If you enjoy reading a story that has you at the edge of your seat trying to figure out who is involved in a cult, this is a story for you. MIND OVER MATTER keeps you guessing who is involved and when you find out, it leaves you speechless.

Rebecca McKenney lives a quiet, lonely life since her daughter went missing almost three years ago. She knew people felt sorry for her and knew that they talked behind her back. She kept hope that one day she would find her daughter so when a vision came to her, Rebecca knew she was alive. Rebecca has a psychic ability, but since she was young, she was told to never tell anyone of her ability. She had never confided in anyone, not even her best friend. So when she confides in one man, she knows either he will believe her or think that she is crazy.

Special Agent Dan Cooper knew he did wrong in the case of a missing little girl, Sabrina. He should have followed through with his gut instinct. The last time that he saw Rebecca was right before leaving her home when there was nothing else to do in her missing daughter's case. They ended up in each other's arms, and he knew this time when he came back, they could not go there again. There is something about Sabrina's room that he seems to get close to her but doesn't know why. There is something about Rebecca that he can't let slip by and they find themselves in each other arms again but soon things will change. When the time comes for Dan to tell the truth about his gut instinct, he knows that will be the end of their relationship.

Wow, this book has everything from a hit and run, a shooting, even a body up on a peak. When you read about the visions that Rebecca has about the disappearance of her daughter, it seems like you are there. Your heart goes out to her because of the amount of pain she goes through seeing her daughter and not able to do anything to help her. So when she gets abducted, she knows soon she will be with her daughter and hopefully it's not too late.

Ms. Clarke brings the characters to life with the amount of emotions that go through them. There are times that the tensions are high when it seems that they are getting closer to the truth. Then emotional state the Rebecca is left with when she has her vision is so surreal. I was left guessing until the exciting climax of the book, one that I didn't see coming. MIND OVER MATTER is a very good book, one that had me at the edge of my seat, hanging onto every word. There are many twists and turns throughout this plot.

Readers, if you enjoy a romantic suspense that won't let you down, then don't wait!
