WILDE LOVE is the final book in the Wilde, Alaska series, which focuses on a sweet little virgin, and five cowboy brothers who plan to share her. I've been reviewing the books as they've been released – my reviews have been up and down – and now that we've come to the end, it seems only natural to reflect on the entire series which follows Jessie as she falls in love with five men in her new town of Wilde, Nevada.
She knows she wants a life with the Wilde brothers despite it being a conflict of interest with her job. Then the mystery begins as someone tries to separate them. While I like the author's voice, the characters overall seem underdeveloped. So much potential that I continued to wait for in the final book but never seemed to evolve. But the series did keep my interest right to the end as I waited to see if she would win over Austin and get all her men. (Now that's getting your dessert and eating it, too!)
In WILDE LOVE, just as Jessie brings Austin around and is now ready to accept the brothers' proposal to spend her life with them, she's kidnapped. The brothers are out of their minds with worry when they discover Jessie is gone. But it's when they come together to sort the clues and uncover the psychopath that they can rescue the only woman for them.
The momentum of the book is strong as they race against time to save Jessie. But I'd have to say that the build-up is greater than the actual book, which is just ok. This series is nothing to get excited about but you couldn't go wrong checking it out for yourself. There are some good aspects along the way… if only it had been developed more. I'd love to see this author write a lengthier book.
