SUMMARY
After her own engagement goes to hell, workaholic Jessica Talbot dreads her friend's bachelorette party at a dude ranch in Nowheresville, Texas. But the outlook for the weekend brightens when Deacon Dumen picks her up at the airport. The sexy cowboy awakens every dormant sexual fantasy with nothing more than a friendly smile and a handshake.

Ex-Air Force Pararescueman Deke Dumen doesn't know what to make of the sexy yet reserved brunette who breaks through the walls he built after an injury ended his career and a divorce soured him on relationships. As a guest at his family's ranch Jessie is off limits, but the Dom in him rebels at the restriction, even as he realizes his penchant for control in the bedroom would likely scare the holy hell out of her.

When Jessie shocks Deke by asking for exactly what he's been craving, he's ready to break the rules and introduce her to his own brand of dominance. Her willing surrender rocks them both to the core. But once the weekend's over, they must decide if it was just a wild fling or the start of something more.

DEACON'S TOUCH will make you want to be a bridesmaid again! Despite the god-awful dresses and geeky ushers, once in a while you hit the jackpot!

Jessica Talbot has managed to do just that. Her friend and his fiancée, Bridgette, are getting married and have cajoled Jessica into joining in the pre-wedding festivities at the Dumen Ranch. The San Antonio Texas ranch is owned by four hot brothers, Dustin, Deacon, Dillon and Dane. Yum!

Jessica is picked up at the airport by Deacon, a sexy Air Force pararescue jumper, who was injured in a HALO jump, crushing several vertebrae and rupturing discs in his back. It was a career ending injury that forced Deke out of the Air Force. He's at a loose end now and has returned home to the ranch to begin the next chapter of his life. Sparks fly every time Deke and Jessica encounter each other.

Jessica is a strong willed professional who works as a stockbroker in Seattle. She's so dedicated to her job that she's walked from the ranch house to the gate just to see if she can get a signal on her cell phone. And she's carrying her briefcase too in all that Texas heat! Deke drives her into Banera so that she can take care of business and get on with enjoying her time at the ranch. Over coffee, Deke and Jessica become more comfortable in each other's company as they explore likes and dislikes.

During the drive back to the ranch, Deke fantasizes about whether Jessica could get into the Dominant/submissive lifestyle that he enjoys. Deke's sexual appetite is whetted when after spending the evening two-stepping and drinking, he realizes that Jessica is as turned on as he is. He feels her out at the bar, holding her arms captive while exploring her mouth. Deke proceeds to initiate Jessica slowly but completely into her new sexual role as a submissive.

Jessica is eager to learn and Deke pushes her boundaries, even resorting to sex toys. By the end of the weekend, Jessica has fallen in love with Deke. She has to return to her life in Seattle and worries that it will doom her relationship with Deke. Will they get together or was this just a weekend fling?

Callie Croix has written a sensual novel that draws you into D/s play and lets you enjoy the fantasy too! I loved that Deke was such an alpha male character! It really reinforces the dominant streak running through his character. I'm looking forward to reading more juicy tidbits from this author. As a perk, at the end of the novel is a teaser for book 2 in the series, which revolves around Deke's brother, Dustin.
