Similar to other books in this series, UNBRIDLED AND UNBRANDED is an entertaining, simple read. While the others had a bit more storyline, Callie's story is unique enough to be interesting. Strands of the story that could've added more intrigue were just left hanging – didn't take away from the story but didn't add to it either.

Callie wants to sell the ranch she inherited when her father died. Always dreaming of living overseas as an artist but having been trapped at home to care for her ailing father, now is her chance. But her long-time enemy, a mean-spirited neighboring rancher, works to undermine her plans and purchase her ranch himself. Trouble with the bank, border disputes and stealing away ranch hands are just the beginning of what he's willing to do to sabotage Callie. And though he's willing to buy her land – or even marry her to join their lands - he's the only person she won't sell her family land to.

At her lowest point, having just lost her ranch hands during breeding season, she finds help with another local rancher. As it turns out, the ranch is run by Rafe, a man she had a one-night stand with years ago. To add another kink, the ranch's owner Bo, Callie's first love, has returned after making his fortune abroad. When they lend a hand at her ranch, they make no attempt to hide their mutual attraction and (of course) begin a deliciously erotic threesome.
While Rafe and Bo are ready to settle down together with a wife to share, Callie is clear their relationship is only temporarily until she leaves. She spends a lot of time working not to fall in love, but (of course) that is exactly what happens. And though she stands to inherit a large fortune by agreeing to terms in her trust fund, Callie still refuses to see a solution.

In the end, the men figure out how to make all their dreams come true without anyone losing. We arrive at an easy ending after pages of exaggerated agony with none of the characters able to find their path. And while we know at the end of a romance that there's a HEA, this ending was definitely not the obvious one.
