Contemporary Romance, LGBTQ, Romantic Comedy
Callum should have come out years ago, but getting married seemed like a better idea. When his coworker Brian begins to flirt with him, Callum starts to question his earlier decision. Shortly after his divorce, Callum and Brian begin dating. Nothing serious. Just a laugh and a pint or three down at the pub.
Even though he's uncertain how strong his feelings are for Callum, Brian encourages him to see other guys. This backfires in a rather unexpected way: Callum meets his second boyfriend Simon. Simon might just be a better suitor – he's a bit more romantic and a lot less brash than Brian.

This book had a different tale to tell than the story I expected from reading the blurb. It is a story of learning who you really are and being true to yourself. And for the character Callum, it's his journey into finding his true self as a gay man. The characters and the story have a depth to them that I did enjoy.
Brian and Callum work together and have always been best buds. Callum is married, so Brian feels free to flirt with the straight married man. When Callum's marriage goes down, Brian is there for him. And this was where Callum confesses to Brian that he's always had an interest in men as well as women.
They embark on a slow and steady, no pressure relationship. But Callum finds his feet as a gay man and develops an interest in someone else. And Brian is kind of left standing on the sidelines wondering what happened, if he took it too slow and gave Callum too much room to find himself...
There were parts of the book I had a hard time with, such as Callum's written accent, which was a bit hard to read at times. And there were times where I didn't really care for either of the main characters. Brian, for his careless flirting ways, and Callum, for his treatment of Brian. I don't want to say more, as it would be spoilers.
Overall, this is a wonderfully written story with a smooth flow. The writing is easy to read and the characters real. It had both funny and sad moments, and took you through all of the emotional ranges in between. It wasn't the story I expected, but it was a good story and well worth the read.
